Chances of GSX is used in the BA training facility?
Not sure which simulator these are based on, I think it's P3D, but after watching this video, it's funny to see how many similarities there are with our home setups
Microsoft Train Simulator? (AI Rendition)
Who here would actually enjoy a Microsoft Train Simulator franchise? I'm curious to know what the demand is.
I understand most of you are all mainly into flight simulation, as am I. But I do share a passion for trains as well.
If you don't already know. There are three main train games on the market.
- Trainz 2022 (N3V Games)
- Train Simulator Classic (Dovetail Games)
- Train Sim World (Dovetail Games)
There is quite a bit of a limit to train simulators because they never have caught up with the rest of the games on the market. Train Sim World is the most up to date when it comes to graphics and releases, but it has limitations and it doesn't replace its predecessor Train Simulator Classic.
A new franchise by Microsoft using their data could end up being one of the best train games ever released. Similar to msfs2024 they should hire 3rd party developers to make the vehicles, and some developers could even make enhanced stretches of routes.
The entire world would be modelled. And world updates would revise routes that are lacking in detail.
Developers could make addons that enhance routes via a marketplace or their own website.
A subscription method could be used to fund the development of routes. Pay a sum and have access to an entire nation of up to date routes and trains.
An easy to use world editor would be implemented to make your own routes, edit others, or have a world hub. You could also participate in groups etc.
What do you all think? Good or bad?
Google Gemini AI was used in the making of this post to show an estimated view of what the game could look like.
Am I the only one that eagerly wants a Soviet monster?
Image 1: Ilyshian IL-76
A medium heavy lift cargo aircraft
Image 2: Antonov AN-124
A Soviet answer to the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy
Image 3: Antonov AN-225
A modified -124 with 3 engines originally used for the Soviet Space Program, later reused as an Ultra Heavy cargo aircraft.
Image 4: Ilyshian IL-96
A later version of the IL-86. Passenger and VIP aircraft.
Image 5: Tupolev TU-204
The Soviet answer to the Boeing 757 and the spiritual successor to the TU-154.
I really hope someone takes on these aircraft at some point in the near future.
Does anyone know the model of these radio antennas? Or any information about them?
Hey there, I've never posted here before, but I thought I'd ask a question to people who have more knowledge than I do.
These masts are scattered across Russia, and they are also used at the UZB-76 location.
I've seen a few of them used at KRUG locations (CDAA for Western users).
They seem to be a basic HF radio antenna system, but they are used across an entire nation and can be found at pretty much every Russian military location that has communications in mind,
I dont know how old this design is, but it must go as far back as the 1980s, as UZB-76 was broadcasting then, likely using these masts, and you can find some at Chornobyl in Ukraine.
These antennas are also used for The Pip and The Squeaky Wheel.
Have we got any news on the Fenix A320neo?
Apologies for a second post, but since I finally have some time I thought I'd share some of my hanging thoughts.

I've been working a lot so I'm a bit out of the loop, but did we get anything from Fenix at FSExpo? I'm really intrigued about this family of aircraft and I really want to know when it is due for an announcement.

I understand Fenix have been working on the VNAV side of things for their current A320's. But I'm pretty sure they are also developing this new family of aircraft simultaneously.

Does anyone have anything to share with me?
Why is GSX suddenly so good?
I swear for the past 4-5 years GSX absolutely sucked. Because Umberto was rude and didn't treat his customers respectfully in his forums. Not to mention GSX was quite unreliable.

But now we are getting all these updates for FREE? Like wow, that's a huge change.

There are still a few things that I nitpick but overall this addon is really changing.

I LOVE the fact that they now have the idea to make multiple jetways work. I understand that it's only inibuilds so far, but I hope more developers come out in the future. Flightbeam, MK Studios, Aerosoft etc are essential.

One thing I would like to add would be some kind of GSX profile hub. And a much better more refined way of making these profiles.

My only issue with GSX now is the fact that the VDGS are always offset from where they are supposed to be. I understand this is likely user error with profiles etc, but I can't seem to get them perfect.

But congratulations Umberto for improving this product. Really happy to see these quality of life updates. Keep the good work up!
Does msfs2024 still have a memory leak?
I've been struggling with this problem on BOTH SIMULATORS ever since their launch. But after each update it varies its severity on my system. Recently both simulators have become completely unenjoyable to play on. I no longer find the enjoyment in flying because I know I'm going to face performance issues, or have to sacrifice lots of quality just to get to my destination without crashing.
Let me try to break it down:
Every time I go to do a flight it's perfect on my departure, sometimes a little stuttery, but the moment I come into land, my game becomes an absolute slideshow for no apparent reason. My VRAM clogs up and therefore my system chokes. But I don't know why.
You see about 5 months ago, msfs2024 was perfect. Really smooth, I could even run the game on 4K on Ultra settings. Now I'm on medium and struggling to get 30fps at most airports.
I've tried everything. I'm too broke at the moment to go out and buy a 5090, but I'm also struggling to face the fact that it is my GPU that's the problem. You see other games which are hard to run don't have this issue. So why am I having to suffer with it on msfs?
Ryzen 9 7950X3D
RTX 4070Ti 12GB OC
64GB 6600MHz DDR5
I know I could definitely do with a better GPU. But I will have you all know. This was never a problem before. So what's caused it?
I've just been reading up about both aircraft and it's come to my attention that after the USSR fell, not long later in 1994 the Russian Air Force retired the M-4 despite the airframe having a lot of potential. The TU-95 will likely continue to fly for a similar time as the B-52 due to it being pretty much a direct counterpart and being a good reliable aircraft that is easy to mass produce and repair. But the M-4 was also the same, and with upgrades it could also carry more, only being surpassed by the TU-160, another aircraft which has questionable production values. From my perspective I would have thought producing a M-4M would be the wise option with better engines, increased range, and ECM equipment. The B-52, TU-95, M-4, and any other strategic bomber of that era are all essentially useless in the event of Armageddon because they are vulnerable aircraft, but as a sign of dominance (which nations seem to love) I am curious as to why they retired these interesting aircraft.
I've been having this issue for months now. And I can't seem to figure out why.
Just to clarify, the game is running smoothly, no VRAM issues until I land and a massive hoard of data is loaded, lags the game, but after a minute it's fine again.
Can someone explain to my pitiful mind?
I have posted this from my phone so I used my latest aviation related photo.
So I've been having performance issues with my setup, here are my basic specs;
- Ryzen 9 7950X3D
- Corsair Dominator DDR5 6600MHz 64GB (2x32GB)
- NZXT N7 B650E
- Gigabyte AERO Nvidia RTX 4070Ti OC 12GB
I recently found out that lowering my ram speeds to 4800MHz (MT/s) has actually increased my overall FPS values. Originally I was running XMP at the normal speeds (I don't have EXPO for some reason) but this causes a lot of lag.
Would anyone with a decent amount of PC knowledge be able to explain to me why this happens? I'm just confused. And is there any solution to get the full use of my ram?
Thank you in advance!
