So I’ve seen a few fics briefly mention building a base, and if got me wondering. Any fics out there with an MC that spends their spare time making their base/home an absolute nightmare to attack? I don’t mean a big obvious fortress, that everyone knows about. Maybe a tinker character subtly reinforces the absolute hell out of their home and traps the shit out of it. Or a shaper/ shaker digs out and fortified a hidden basement or something. In Pale Blood, and Here Comes the New Boss it’s touched on, but barely.

Some I’m looking for fics with more realistic fighting against the death eaters. So many fics have them using the same spells everyone learns before fourth year exclusively even as adults. More specifically I read one this week with an adult Harry, post war, a veteran Auror that had ‘pushed the bounds of magic’ but used exclusively spells from the first four years of school, aside from some disguise charms on himself, and a couple of camping wards. So I need stories with them actually fighting back. It’s a war, the enemy is using lethal force, and Harry fights back with something more serious than a twelve year old gets taught. Preferably Harry would be 14+, Time travel or dimension travel is okay. No M/M, at least not for the main character. Please link recs?

Okay, so I don’t remember a lot of the fic, but I’m pretty sure it started in book 4-5, Harry was taking a bit more of a proactive approach to his problems. There is really only one scene I mostly remember. They are all in the great hall, an argument is brewing with someone and Luna spouts a bunch of crazy shit and the person bothering the group leaves. Luna drops the dreamy look for the only time EVER and says “if you can’t lead them with logic, baffle them with bullshit.” That one line really stuck with me and I can’t find the fic. If anyone knows it, please let me know and drop a link? Thanks.

So like the title says, looking for something with Harry being hard line, the only good death eater is a dead one, without crossing into the evil edgelord crap. Something similar to Cadmean Victory but maybe 35% less angst? Whether it’s a hidden resource of Slytherin, rituals, or more regular magic used ruthlessly, a strong, independent Harry that is willing to put foot to ass. Straight Male Harry preferred

So I’m looking for a decent SI or OC fic. Preferably male. No m/m. Almost all the fics I have found have the mc crying constantly, having regular mental breakdowns, is pure trauma wank, or is a five year old giga Chad. I’m looking for something with a relatively competent character. Doesn’t have to be OP, just not someone who cries constantly. And I don’t want some 5-10 year old that commands gods, and seduces Artemis by chapter three. Sorry for the rant. So in summary, male si/oc, 14+ age, at least somewhat competent, no crybaby trauma wank, preferably somewhere between the first five books. Thanks.

Looking for something similar to https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/magic-the-tayloring.1240112/. Absolutely loved this fic, but the author has a habit of going half a year or more between updates, for all of their fics. So like I said, card based or summoning powers. What I loved about Magic the tayloring was that while the power had the potential to be overpowered, the cards/summons over a certain power had wills of their own, and are not necessarily loyal to the summoner.
