Need honest advice

Hi guys! I am from central east florida and grew up in a small coastal town and have been here my entire life. I have two young daughters and my fiance and I are considering moving up to South Jersey for a mix of reasons. He grew up in philly and his mom is now located in South Jersey and having her as help would be such a support as she is ready with open arms. I love the idea of living in the northeast and having seasons which is a change for me as a born and raised Floridian, and I also think raising kids close to major cities (Philly and New York) would be so cool. However, I have been seeing some people online say that South Jersey is very different from North Jersey and that it gives “middle of nowhere” vibes, which isn’t necessarily a turn off for me, however I really do not want my children to experience major “small town syndrome” and would like them to be exposed to different people and cultures and have opportunities. I guess i’m just looking for other people’s experiences and advice about living in South Jersey and hearing positives and negatives for raising kids. For context we are considering Cherry Hill heavily due to proximity to philly, Voorhees, Deptford/West deptford. I hope this question doesn’t come off offensive in anyway, I am really leaning towards moving there and have sort of had high hopes for it until recently, Thank you in advance!

Considering moving to South Jersey with kids

Hey! I’m from Central Florida and my husband and I have talked about the idea of moving to South Jersey in a few years to be closer to family. I also am a teacher here in Florida, and looking to hear from other teachers in the SJ area about their experience, as well as what it is like to raise a family there. His mom is located in West Deptford, so we are hoping to be somewhere in that general area. Any information is useful as I can’t find much online! TIA
