Wanted your opinion/advice on which hotel loyalty membership if any, is currently the best in terms of value, service, perks and overall experience?

I usually travel internationally maybe once or twice a year for leisure, my work doesn't allow much travel wise, so usually I take 1-3 vacations/staycations a year within the MENA/SEA region.

I also don't have any hotel affiliated credit cards.

I have usually previously, just booked third party since it was significantly cheaper, but I have stayed with IHG directly once last year in Bangkok and had a wonderful experience.

I have a 2 week travel coming up I'm December-Jan in Kuala Lumpur, and would like to start using these nights towards status in hotel program. Which chain would you recommend? Marriott/IHG/Hilton/Hyatt?

Open to thoughts!

I'm currently just a club level member with IHG and was wondering if it' would be good value to pay the $225 for IC ambassador status?
I have a 12 night stay in December coming up in Malaysia and plan to split the stay among IHG hotels (Intercontinental/Kimpton/maybe Hotel Indigo)
Given the above, do you think the Platinum Elite status that comes with it would give me enough perks at the non-IC hotels to justify the purchase?
I travel internationally maybe once a year but I also am eyeing a few staycations next year where I'm based at the local IC's, so maybe that could add to the value. I'm on the fence, would love to hear your experience or advise.

I'm not based in USA so don't have any IHG credit cards.

Just wanted to ask your experiences regarding these hotels, planning a holiday to KL for New Year's with a friend, I'm a new IHG member with previous stay in lovely Kimpton Maa Lai so not sure if I'm entitled to any tier benefits ofcourse.

Looking for nice rooms and amenities, which is the better place to be in terms of service and location for NYE fireworks and also food and shopping accessibility, I know Kimpton is connected to TRX mall.

Would appreciate your input please!
