NAL so I want to understand what is going on so far.

Before today, Government kept deferring Bato's arrest citing they wish to "resolve all legal issues" before they make moves. They tried to avoid directly answering the questions pero as I understood it, their stance is that ICC WoA is valid, it is enforceable and therefore the Senator can be arrested.

And when they said "resolve all legal issues" I understood it to be referring to the TRO petition only and not necessarily the "main case", which the SC specifically emphasized in their official statement, is still pending.

So now the TRO is denied, pero ang main case is not yet resolved.

So say the Government believing they are in the right, follows through and arrests Sen. Bato. Will they be violating any laws in doing so?

Say, Bato was arrested, sent to The Hague but the SC ruled that the Government's interpretation of the law was incorrect. Ano ang mga violations na pwede ikaso sa kanila?

And what remedies can Bato (and by extension Duterte) avail gayong nasa The Hague na sila?

I am trying to browse through the video clips of the Presscon about the Senate shooting investigation.

I can't find any clip so far or news article na may napresent na building layout or map identifying the approximate locations where individuals are positioned as the event unfolded.

Kasi mas makakatulong yun to give context and mavisualize yung situation. Maybe it can even give some idea sa possible motivations ng mga involved lalo na yung mga nagpaputok ng baril

If I am not mistaken. Manifest Destiny was originally limited to the North American continent. Monroe Doctrine was more concerned about the North and South America. Sure these doctrines eventually morphed into a global hegemonic aspiration but for a time isolationism was kind of a thing in American politics

Some say it's WWII, but I had always thought this is the culmination of that objective which the "seeds" (so to speak) that were planted much much earlier.

Was there some kind of a "turning point" in American society and politics where they began to realize that they don't want to be just "a global player" but become THE global player?

To further clarify, there is no question they were starting to be a global power at the turn of the 20th Century but they were one of many at that time. What I meant is when did they start aspiring to rise and become the global power above everyone else.

As we know, Germany simply didn't have enough to sustain its brutal war of attrition with USSR. Not to mention the Soviets were able to keep moving their industries (and population) deeper into Russian territory ensuring their war production kept going.

But say Germany didn't have the resource and manpower limits it had. And they can keep sustaining their campaign.

What could have been the breaking point of the Soviets to finally subjugate them?

A lost strategic territory? A destroyed industrial base? A lost resource basket? Death or capture of a military or political leader?

As we all know, Germany ultimately lost because they can't wage a prolonged war of attrition before they broke USSR. Not to mention Soviets kept shifting their industries deeper and deeper into Russian territory which enabled them to outstrip Germany in terms of war production.

But say Germany somehow has the manpower and resources to keep going in the Eastern Front.

Could USSR have theoretically been broken at some point?

What could have been the (or the combination of), territorial, industrial base, resource basket, logistical network loss/losses that becomes the catalyst to break USSR into submission

For all it's worth, Bato's antics just reinforces the idea that if Duterte is granted interim release. Very likely that he will pull off the same shit his underling is doing right now.

Heck, the very idea that a fugitive can use the SENATE as his refuge being shielded by fellow Senators like Robin further gives validity to the idea that ICC intervention is necessary

Does it still matter given that the current Senate composition points to foregone conclusion? Heck, Senators like Cayetano, Padilla, Imee and Bato aren't even hiding their biases anymore.

But then again, maybe there is a silver lining since even if it's doomed, it will still be used as a platform to bring all the evidences of alleged wrongdoings of the VP and her family to public attention and maybe create an environment similar to what happened to Estrada's impeachment

I mean damn, talk about a losing streak..

So PGMN claims what happened to their prominent personalities is some form of harassment and they were "Set Up" in an attempt to silence them over the discoveries they made against Romualdez.

However, parang mas dumami ang tanong kesa sa sagot sa ginawa nilang statement

Kung 5 months na ang investigation and ang episode was already filmed weeks ago.

• How come ngayon lang ito tila pinlanong ipalabas?
• What was the reason for the weeks of hold up in releasing the episode?

If Romualdez tried to silence them and inunahan sila.

• How did he (Romualdez) even got to know na the expose is about to be released in the first place?
• Pano siya nainform (at sino) with absolute certainty to the point that he was compelled to mobilize the NBI para unahan si Mabanta et.al.?

Kung may threat sa lives nila and enemies may have contracted hitmen.

• Why Romualdez even resort to using the NBI at all since using government assets would appear more irregular
• He could have just went ahead and gumamit ng anonymous hitmen and the attacks can later be blamed on another party?

Ngayon sinasabi nila na may dead man's switch na sila at irerelease ang video the moment may mangyaring masama sa kanila.

• Why withhold the video any further? Diba as "investigative journalists" ang primary objective is to expose the truth?
• Why patuloy na itago pa ang video which is the reason hinaharass sila in the first place?
• Kind of doesn't make sense since releasing the video will reinforce their narrative na hinaharass sila. Moreso it will vindicate their arrested colleagues, diba?

Throughout post WWII Europe there were many attempts to push for various "Good" narratives (like the Good German, the Honorable Wehrmacht, the Good Nazi and so on) which were obviously done for as many social and political reasons.

But never heard anything remotely similar done to the SS.

Granted they were the most vile with many atrocities and all. But were there really no examples of one or a couple of individual "Good SS" who questioned their mission or worked within to subvert the organization?
