Just booked my Ls. Looking for recommendations and some LAMS advice.

Hey everyone!

I've just booked my learner rider course for next month and I'm super excited. In the meantime, I've been going down the rabbit hole researching bikes and trying to figure out what I might want to buy once I've got my Ls.

I'm very new to all of this, so I'd love to get some advice from people with a lot more experience.

From what I've seen so far, I seem to be drawn towards the more retro, modern classic, naked kind of aesthetic where you can actually see the engine and there's less plastic fairing. I really like bikes that look a bit more mechanical and timeless rather than super sporty. A couple examples of bikes I am liking are the Royal Enfield Classic 650 and the Triumph Speed Twin 900.

I'd love some recommendations for other reliable bikes with a similar look and feel, especially anything that's LAMS approved.

I also have a question about the whole learner/provisional bike progression: Would you recommend just buying something cheap and learner friendly to get experience on, then sell it once I'm on fulls and then buy a bike I want to keep longer term?

I've also heard that you can buy a bike that's factory LAMS restricted, then derestrict it once you're on your fulls. Thinking that could save me from having to buy, sell, then buy again. If so, are there any models you'd recommend that fit the sort of retro/modern classic aesthetic I'm after?

Finally, if there are any bikes, brands, or even categories you think I should be looking into based on the style I've described, I'd love to hear them. I'm still learning the differences between all the different types of bikes, so any recommendations or beginner tips would be amazing.

Thanks so much.

seeking skincare advice from you pro's

hey all,

i have to admit, i am completely lost and confused in the world of endless skincare needs/products/ingredients and would love some feedback or advice on what i should be doing.

my current skincare routine:

morning
- timeless vit c + the ordinary niacinamide + dr jart ceramidin cream

evening alternating
- paula's choice BHA + niacinamide + dr jart ceramidin
- some kind of retinal (previously used k secret seoul 1988 but after 2 bottles didn't feel it was doing anything, now using celimax vit-a retinal shot) + dr jart ceramidin

i've been looking at integrating some kind of peptides, or tret, or reedle shot or pdrn or open to anything else?

my skin is very tolerable, mainly just oily t-zone, sometimes a little dry on cheeks. my main concerns are wrinkles on forehead, fine lines starting to form around eyes, uneven tone, and enlarged pores and sebaceous filaments in my t-zone. dear lord i feel like nothing i do actually addresses my pores. the oil gets so dark and i feel like it just looks like i have tonnes of tiny blackheads everywhere and i hate it so much. i know you can't reduce the size of pores, but i'd just love to know what's worked for others in terms of making them tighter and cleaner?

i just wanna have glorious, firm, bouncy, filtered glass skin like all the tiktok people have. is that too much to ask lol.

anyway, i so appreciate any advice anyone can share! thank you so much.

Advice for hit and run. Driver ran red, knocked me off my bike and sped off.

Hey all,

I was involved in a pretty nasty accident a couple nights ago.

Green man went off for me, so I started cycling through the main road. I’m half way across, when a car starts speeding through, runs the red, and basically t-bone’s me. I had impact with his bumper/bonnet, the bike flips and I fly off it landing on the concrete while he speeds off.

There were several witnesses. People got the number plate, dragged me off the road, called an ambo and police and I went to hospital.

I am extremely lucky and somehow have no broken bones or any major injuries. I’m mainly just very emotional and battered and bruised up, hip that I landed on is absolutely fkd, but all in all, best case scenario.

My question is.. does anyone have experience or advice around compensation lawyers for this kind of scenario (happened in NSW)? While I don’t have major injuries, this has been extremely traumatising, will disrupt me from seeking work for a while (I’m a freelancer), and I will need some physio and other therapies to work through my injuries.

Thanks so much. Appreciate any advice or even referrals to lawyers.
