Manufacturers vs Traders

Hi fellow procurement people,

I’ve been running into this dilemma frequently over the past few months; Do we buy from manufacturers or traders?

As for instance, our quantities are quite massive for private label herbs & foods that individual manufacturers we talked to find it difficult to produce within given deadlines while maintaining our agreed qualities, however on the other hand, trading companies usually agree to everything we ask for, even offer better value added services that are actually difficult for a manufacturer to match, though their pricing is significantly steeper than the former, therefore I’m in a soup at this point which way to go, whether to develop the manufacturer for ourselves or just spare the long haul by opting for a trader.

Your invaluable opinions are welcome.

Hey everyone,

I am a direct processor and exporter based in Mahesana, Gujarat, specializing in the global trade of high-purity agricultural commodities.

We are currently moving a significant volume (500 MT) of premium Nigella Sativa (Black Cumin/Kalonji) and are looking to connect with:

- Industrial Oil Extractors: Companies looking for high-oil-content seeds for cold-pressing or pharmaceutical use.

- Bulk Distributors: Partners who require consistent, large-scale supply in the US, EU, or Middle East.

What We Offer:

- Direct Processing: We aren’t just traders; we manage the processing and grading to ensure 99.80% purity and specific moisture controls.

- Scale: Ability to fulfil large contracts (500 MT+) with standardized quality across all batches.

- Technical Compliance: Full documentation including phytosanitary certificates, fumigation records, and COA (Certificate of Analysis).

Looking For:

- Market Insights: Specific buyer requirements for different grades (Sortex vs. IPM/Organic).

- Strategic Partnerships: Long-term supply contracts with industrial manufacturers.

If you’re in the spice or oil extraction industry, let’s discuss specs and logistics.

Serious inquiries only.
