Instinct 3 Solar 45 | Stable infinity battery with ~70k lux daily average

On my Instinct 3 Solar 45 I’m consistently getting ~70k lux daily average now during summer vacation. That’s enough to keep the watch in Infinity battery mode at a stable level (currently at 80% and slowly climbing). These numbers seem solid for maintaining Infinity.

Hope this helps some of you because I know the coveted infinity is something a lot of people are chasing!

Greek shade hits different! Officially reached ∞ battery on my balcony!

Just sitting on my balcony (home office) completely out of direct sunlight (under the awning), and after some hours my Instinct 3 Solar finally got the infinity symbol 😎

Instinct 3 Solar | How many battery days did I actually gain from this?

Hey everyone,

I spent the whole day sailing and my Instinct 3 Solar got maxed out at 100% solar intensity for about 7 hours straight (while tracking the activity with GPS).

Knowing how intense the sun is out on the water, what is the realistic net effect on the battery? With this level of exposure, did I actually add any battery days to the watch, or did it just offset the GPS drain?

Would love to hear from anyone who has tested this out. Thanks!

Boat Activity bug: "Nautical Dist" automatically reverts to standard "Distance"? (Instinct 3 Solar)

Hey everyone,

I’m facing a weird issue with the Boat activity on my Instinct 3 Solar and I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this.

When I customize my Data Screens and select Nautical Dist. under Distance Fields, the watch doesn't seem to retain the setting. During the activity, it automatically reverts back to standard Distance. As a result, I see my live distance covered in meters/kilometers instead of nautical miles, which is highly annoying while tracking a boat trip.

Has anyone experienced this data field resetting itself? Is there a workaround to force "Nautical Dist" to actually stick during the live tracking?

Thanks in advance!

Do you actually need to use 3D Builder to fix STL errors

Hi to all,

I've been using Thingiverse for years, but lately, I've shifted to MakerWorld since it has clearly become the main trend. I'm finding plenty of really good models there, but I've noticed a recurring issue also here.

When I open many of these STLs in Microsoft 3D Builder, they get flagged with geometry errors, and the software recommends a automatic fix.

For those of you downloading from MakerWorld, is it actually necessary to repair these STLs through 3D Builder before throwing them into the slicer, or is 3D Builder just being overly sensitive?

What is your experience and feedback on this?

Oppo Find X9: Should I remove the factory screen protector to reduce reflections?

I’m struggling with the intense glare on my new Oppo Find X9. The factory-applied screen protector is extremely glossy and acts like a mirror in bright light. If I peel it off, will the bare glass handle reflections better due to its built-in coatings, or will it be just as bad? I really want to reduce the reflections without losing screen clarity. Should I go naked or keep the factory-applied screen protector? Looking for advice from anyone who has removed theirs. Thanks!

Hello! I’ve been testing the x1, x2, x3, and x6 toggles on my Find X9 and I’m curious about the technical side of the 50MP sensors. Since x2 and x6 are "In-Sensor" crops of the main and telephoto lenses, I want to confirm if shooting in Standard 12.5MP mode still triggers the full 50MP resolution in the background to achieve that lossless effect!

So, does the software automatically use the high-res raw data for the crop even if the final output is a standard file size, or should I be worried about losing detail compared to a native optical focal length? I'd love to hear from anyone who has compared these shots.
