Linux beginner

I'm looking to get into Linux, been thinking about it for about two months now and I'm ready to commit time to it.

Some time back I was rethinking about what role I play in tech but I decided to give it another chance cause of some great advice I got. I know I can thrive I just chose to overthink it all.

So I'd love a few leads on where to start. Any advice is welcome. I'm really excited about this🙂‍↕️

I don't have a title...

I've lied to myself for the longest time that I actually have a future in IT. Truth is I hate it, I'm not as passionate about it as I am in Agriculture. I usually do some work here and there on our farms, my parents are always there and I enjoy every minute of it. I can't compare the passion I have for that with IT.

I actually want to be an athlete. I remember racing with my dad in a field near home and I'd always beat him and he'd be so happy. I was always in the school tournaments, racing and would come up among the top 3 always. There's a feeling that I've not had in a long time whenever I think about racing.

Now I'm stuck watching a screen about a ping sweep which I'm not even interested in. Can't tell how many times I've cried alone in my bathroom. I've wasted three years doing something I thought I'd gradually become passionate about. I do enjoy the classes and learning all together but it's just not for me.

My dad calls me his engineer, brags to his friends that I'm a comp science student at so and so university. My first and second year at campus was great, everything was flowing then gradually I resented everything about it. I even enrolled in a boot camp thinking it would bring back my spark but I feel empty.

I'm not meant to stare at a screen and clean data for the rest of my life. I want to be seen as the next big thing among the great Kenyan athelets and believe me not, we were neighbors with the late Samuel Kamau Wanjiru. I often think that that was a sign that I'd be a great athlete some day just as he was.

I'm also certain that me working towards my dream would bring back the spark that I lost years ago, smile more and talk more. That would heal me mentally and emotionally, physically even cause I'd be outside running and exercising. I can no longer lie to myself that I have to build a strong resume for something I hate.

Feels good to let it out at least 🙂

Music

I'm looking for any leads about where I can learn how to play the violin, or if there's anyone here that's good at it lemme know.
