Burgundy Dreams

I happened to wander into the boutique on launch day in Vancouver last week while I was on a work trip and found this beauty.

I haven’t seen it posted anywhere, so I thought I would share. The CA who assisted me was lovely and said this was a “surprise” bag that the boutique received and that it was the only one they had. I’m not sure how that works, but I thought it was interesting. I love unique pieces, and the way this one catches the light and colour shifts really does something for me.

Pet in cabin "embargo" July 25 - August 1 2026

I just wanted to offer a heads up to anyone who plans to travel with their pet in cabin during the period of July 25 - August 1st 2026 that Air Canada will not accept pet bookings during this time.

I just called to book my pet as I usually do for a flight on the 30th. I was on hold for nearly 2 hours so I decided to try the chat. The agent told me that there was an 'embargo' on pets in cabin during this time and couldn't really provide any additional info on as to why. I asked if my ticket could be refunded and they said yes as this was a special case, but they ultimately ended up closing the chat on me before I could reply.

I'm going to try calling again tomorrow and hopefully will be able to get more info and my flight changed without too much of an additional cost, but. I wanted to save anyone who may be booking the headache as I was not notified that this was happening when I purchased my ticket yesterday.

Alo Policing Social Media Content with Red Points AI

Earlier this evening I received a notification from Instagram that an Alo haul/try on reel I had made a few months ago was removed citing the following:

“We’ve removed or disabled access to the following post on Instagram because a third party reported that your offer o.f goods and or promo o.f the sale o_f  goods infringes on their trademark rights.”

The third party who did this was identified as aloyoga-bp@redpoints.com . Red Points appears to be an AI brand protection program. I appealed both directly to them and to instagram but I am not holding my breath for a reply.

My video isn’t monetized and I didn‘t claim affiliation with the brand nor did I share links to shop. I’m still trying to figure out how my post infringed on any trademark…I just said the names o.f the pieces I bought and tried them on. Pretty run o.f the mill content for 2026.

I’m not an influencer, but I am a customer who has spent over 5 figures on this brand over the past few years, and I am irked that my instagram account is now in jeopardy due to Alo deploying lazy AI to manage their brand. It makes me feel contempt for Alo and not want to shop there anymore. I definitely won’t be sharing any more hauls after this.

I’m posting this because I couldn’t find much info about this and I am wondering if this AI scraping might become an issue for people like us here who like to share our pieces. Has anyone else had a similar experience.? Also in the hope that someone who actually works for the brand might see this - your bot is broken and it is harming your relationship with customers.

Pre-Ordering Meals: at time of ticket purchase vs e-mail

Whenever I buy my tickets, I select my special meal type during the checkout process - always Asian veg.

This year I’ve been sent the ”pre-order your meal” email for a few flights. I ignored it because I already pre-ordered my meal so I assumed it was just a general thing for everyone else and wasn’t necessary. Three times now, my special meal was not put onboard and they had no record of it. Obviously now I know that I need to acknowledge these emails and order it…again. But I’m just wondering why they would even include the option to select it at ticket purchase time if they’re just going to override it later? It’s confusing and disappointing. I also don’t get this email every time I fly. A consistent process would be a more straightforward approach.
