I hate sonic waves so much
(Literally me when i see sonic waves on a horn👆)
It really gets on my nervs so bad the second i see it on a hunting horn, i swear it's actual use is so minimal it doesn't deserve to exist
So basically if you dont know sonic waves act as a screamer pod which is only useful against monsters that burrow (bury?) Themselves underground like the balahara (also the only burrowing monster in wilds) , aside from the fact that i can literally use the screamer pod instead of using a melody which takes longer to actually apply mid combat, that's literally the only use i can see for it
(i think also useful against nargacuga? Not sure and doesn't matter since its wilds)
I tried so bad to see if it actually has another use but to no avail everywhere i look like reddit or google they say the same thing, i wish it didn't exist if that actually was all it had.
But i did make some hypothesis or theories (idk i dont speak English very well sorry) while trying to find another use for it , two things came to mind while playing it but none of which can be confirmed, #1 sonic waves can help OPEN wounds faster than normal hits or any other melody, ( i am really not sure abt this one)
#2 they stagger the monster way faster too (this one i am 60% sure of but still cant confirm it)
So i hope someone who is more of a horn veteran and especially if they played alot of horn on wilds can either confirm or debunk my theories, i really want sonic waves to have a use but i cant seem to find one
Btw i wouldn't even care abt sonic waves as much if they weren't on my gog horn. (Cause why tf would i use gog weapon against a monster who is a very low end monster) also idk but it doesn't feel like the dlc is gonna add like a million burrowing monsters to make it worthwhile, so bad boy to sonic waves?
