Book of life range?

So what is the actual range of it.
I've been trying to get ace medal on every level including the hand of god but some of them have been a real struggle but would be easy if I had a bit more range.
I was just wondering are there some tricks on using it and how do you do it?
I know i can find videos on youtube on how to get a medal in every level but that would just ruin the point of it for me.

As someone that likes both reading and videogames i was just looking for my next read,preferably no more than 250ish pages(wouldn't mind Aa book that is a bit longer if it's worth it)
