Going to my first yarn/wool festival!

Looks like there is the Wool Market in Estes Park, CO happening early June! I've been crocheting for a long time and started knitting earlier this year. I've never been to a yarn festival before and wanted some initial thoughts from folks online! How do you plan which yarns to buy? Is it project based or do you just go for it? Do you create a budget? I'm just thinking there will be only yarn vendors but are there other types of items being sold? I'm guessing yarn prices might be a bit higher than usual retail stores like Michael's, Hobby Lobby, etc but I think that's fine since it's for a special occasion! Any other thoughts, tips, or suggestions when I go?

Update: thank you all for the handy info! I feel like I have a better idea of what to expect and am planning some projects and yarns needed. Maaaybe I should update my budget to be a bit higher than what I thought I'd go in with. 😁 If I remember, I'll update this post or create another of everything I purchased. Thank you all again. ✨

Is this a dropped stitch or something else?

Hi, I'm new to knitting and am making the step by step sweater by Florence as a first project. I am struggling to figure what I did here? I don't know if it's a dropped stitch or something else. Any feedback and/or links to how to fix would be super appreciated! Thank you!
