Anyone got good stories of being scammed if you sell handspun or if you offered to spin for a friend?

Beware of grieving pet owners wanting their dog’s fur spun. I was trying to do a meaningful favor for someone I trusted as a friend from Instagram. And I learned a scary lesson that has included being threatened and harassed by tons of accounts they sent after me after spreading malicious lies. I have already refunded the money in full as soon they started threatening me this morning after and told them I will ship it multiple times as soon as I can. I sent a photo proving it’s not damaged and asked them to stop posting lies and inciting their followers to come after me or I will need to file a police report if this continues. The email response was basically they’ll blast me if they want to as it’s my fault for being online.

I spent around 60hours picking vm and dog waste matter by hand from 70oz of fur and weighing it all plus weighing 4lbs of Rambouillet into 2 oz for batts. because I was too scared to wash it and felt it. They switched personalities over night on my birthday the 29th and started coming up with ridiculous lies like I said I could process spin and knit 70oz of dog hair in less than 3 months. The lies have been much scarier and threatening and I had to make my long time insta account private and block and screenshot a lot of threats before I figured out how to do that stop the messages.

I’ve never been involved in a large online harassment situation and it brings me a lot of extra fear and anxiety surrounding safety that I don’t need added in top of already being out on FMLA surgery for endometriosis and fibroids and trying to stay positive with the care for monitoring a rare STUMP tumor found during surgery. I’m only 2 weeks post op and this started on my birthday.

It’s okay I am stupid for doing this I know and will only spin for myself from now on.

I would love to hear any stories anyone else has had spinning for a friend or customer that you really regret.

I used the gender neutral pronoun to describe the friend/customer to make it more anonymous. I don’t need their cruelty getting more views but they obviously don’t care about that. I don’t care about being believed just venting with people who know how long fiber arts takes and have also learned hard lessons before.

I finally found a pain management combo that I can function again.

I’m taking 440mg of naproxen 2x a day, 3 600mg gabapentin a day, cyclobenzaprine when needed, tramadol when needed combined with a 325 Tylenol and 200-300mg of caffeine through tea. I can function again when all of this is combined. I’ve been bleeding for a month now and missed Mon-Thurs at work this week. Then after adding the tramadol and Tylenol that I was recently prescribed I worked 10 hours (on a computer from home) and then cooked some southern style green beans to go with dinner.

My surgeon told me tramadol wouldn’t work for the pain so I wanted to share that it does for me. I’ve seen mixed reviews when I look online some people it helps some if makes worse so take my experience with a grain of salt. I also get 30-40g of fiber a day so I haven’t had any constipation.

I’m having a myomectomy and endometriosis excision Sept 15! I’m 34 and have been suffering since adolescence and even childhood with stomach issues. I wouldn’t want to be on the muscle relaxer or tramadol long term so this is temporary to get me through till after surgery. But I’m so much less depressed now that I have a way to function.

Anyone on spironolactone and on antipsychotics?

I’m on latuda and my doctor said if I were to go on spironolactone I would have to regularly see a cardiologist. I’m scared but I can’t stop taking meds to keep me sane and alive. Im stage 1 early stage 2 with scaring though haven’t had tunneling yet. I’m 34F and it started 5 years ago.

Im also concerned about started spironolactone for a short time before fertility treatments then restarting it hopefully after pregnancy. I was told it doesn’t work as well if you start stop and start again.

Does anyone take both Tirzepatide and metformin?

I went to a dermatologist for the first time for my HS. It was really helpful and I got a lot better treatment than I’ve been getting from my primary care physician. I’m going to be starting a 2 month antibiotic and she recommended asking my primary for a prescription to metformin. I’m already on tirzepatide. Is that overkill to be on both that and metformin? I also have IBS so I’m worried about potential stomach issues.

Hi new to this sub and was invited here after someone read my post where I was officially diagnosed with PCOS this past week and shared what great success I’ve had regulating my cycle and reducing severe HS flare ups. I thought I would be cool to put this out there on the internet for others to see my experience with GLP and hope to spread awareness to hopefully get this approved by insurance for PCOS and FDA approval to treat PCOS. I’m going to try to be as organized and specific to full GLP journey with you. Someone in my post in the comments thought it was fascinating how the med was working for me even though I’m still at a really high BMI. I’m 34F and 5’3 and currently 190lbs. I currently take 6.25 compounded tirzepatide that also has vitamin B and NAD in it.

My PCOS journey and GLP:

I have always struggled with PCOS symptoms since I was young and a healthy weight in teenage years and my 20s. Symptoms like irregular cycle, ovarian cysts, and acne.

In 2018 I went through several hospitalizations to diagnosis my Bipolar 1 and was put on a lot of different antipsychotics to try and medicate me. It was severe and necessary I was having really bad psychosis and debilitating symptoms before I found a diagnosis. The worst but most effective medication was risperidone which made my prolactin levels elevated and caused lactations and a much more severely irregular cycle. Eventually Seroquel became the best medication to control my symptoms but that medication also effects hormones and causes weight gain.

From 2018-2024 I went from 104lbs to 228lbs. My healthy weight most of my life has been in the 130s/140s, but I was very underweight from not eating anything for a month straight due to mania and having bad orthorexia leading up to stopping eating. I was 130s before the eating disorder and mania.

GLP and HS symptom history:

My HS boils starting in 2021 and my first ones and for the best few years were very severe. I’m talking water balloon size infected cysts on my size G cup boobs and on my groin and butt. Thank god never too close to lady area. From 2021 to June of 2025 when I started 2.5mg of zepbound from Lilly direct I was on antibiotics 4-6 times per year and having them lanced and drained around 3 times per year.

Since 6/2025 and starting zepbound I didn’t take a single antibiotic till I couldn’t afford meds again from Oct-Dec 2025 when I had bad flare ups and ended up taking 1 antibiotic and being seen twice by my PA for bad boils. I noticed how much it helped when I stopped the med and it got so much worse. Since Jan 2026 I have been on a regular and slowly increasing dose from 2.5 to 4.25 to this month 6.25 of compounded tirzepatide. The only HS flare up that required an antibiotic I’ve had this year is in Feb after my mom died and I was very stressed out. The commenter that thought my journey was so interesting found it fascinating the only time so far being on GLP I’ve needed an antibiotic was when my mom died and I had such high cortisol.

GLP and PCOS cycle regulation:

Like I’ve said I’ve always had an irregular cycle, but the mental health medications and weight gain made the much more severe. The longest I’ve got without having a period is 6 months with 3/4 months being very common for me between 2018-2025. My first dose of taking 2.5 tirzepatide I started my period the next day. Around 30 days after that and I took my dose I started my period within a couple of days. Everytime I am due for my period I start it after taking my shot.

GLP and PMDD:

It is wonderful that it helps my HS and regulates my cycle. But because it has made my cycle come back and got me ovulating again my PMDD is back really severe which isn’t a good combo when it’s triggering bipolar 1 symptoms like really severe mood swings/agitation and severe suicidal ideation.

GLP and endo:

I have noticed it’s reduced some pain and inflammation for me but my endo symptoms are so severe I’m mostly housebound so I think it will help more after surgery getting this stuff out of me. There is fascinating research about natural glp levels in people with endo and how it helps.

GLP and IBS:

The first months on GLP I had severe constipation even with a high fiber diet. I had to take a lot of OTC laxatives and stool softeners to get through the first 3 months. But it wasn’t so bad after having years of weeks of terrible diarrhea and constipation for weeks on end alternating. But after that first 3 months wow I am having the best regularity I’ve ever had in my entire life. I very rarely suffer from either loose stool or constipation and if I do it only lasts a day and is minor.

This was such a long post but I tried to put all the info out there. I hope others see this to raise awareness and I am an open book to any questions!

Hi random knitting thought and hopefully people see my post as I’m curious and no one ever comments on this sub for me.

So I 34F have been diagnosed with endo for FMLA purposes based on pain levels but am getting my surgery to clinically diagnosis it this July.

Official diagnosis:
PCOS
Fibroids
PMDD
Bi Polar 1
ADHD
IBS
Indoor and outdoor Allergies
Food intolerances
Tear in disc between lower spine that causes sciatica
Infertility
Sleep apnea
TMJ

Suspected diagnosis:
Endometriosis
Adenomyosis
IBD
Early arthritis

2 diseases I’m very curious to know more about the symptoms of are MCAS and EDS/HSD I may have some of those symptoms but dunno if its worth looking into getting checked out for these things.

Even if you don’t have as many issues as me or more I’m very curious about the related or non related conditions other women with endo and pelvic pain also go through.

Hi I’m going through more than just PCOS I also am getting surgery to look for endometriosis and adenomyosis, and have a 6cm fibroid removed because it’s in the lining of my uterus a bit. I’ve been complaining to doctors for years about my symptoms. I’ve had infertility, very irregular cycles (6 months at worst), ovarian cysts in the past but not now, and gained 100lb from 2019-2024, and terrible HS. Before starting tirzepatide I was constantly on antibiotics and having to get boils lanced. I have a lot more issues with pain but those are my pcos related symptoms.

My normal PA told me about the difference between endometriosis and PCOS and she suspects I have both. So I found an endocrinologist I really like at a fertility clinic for her to refer me to. After seeing my test results the endocrinologist said my blood work was normal but because I have a slightly higher than average follicle count and a long with my symptoms she officially diagnosed me.

I’m going through a lot still but I’m posting on this sub for the first time to have people to celebrate getting this diagnosis. Of course I wish I didn’t have this disease but having an answer for my symptoms is really great and I want to celebrate because I’ve been struggling for years seeing doctors without answers.

I already manage the disease with GLP and high fiber high protein diet. But if anyone has any tips on HS or taking care of your metabolic health to reduce the higher chances of diseases that PCOS causes I would love to hear your tips.
