Early morning roofer

My neighbours have been having their roof done this week, and this morning, at 5am, I’m woken up by what sounds like someone doing some work… just a racc trying to break in.

I wonder if it has a nest / little ones trapped in there now that it’s trying to get to? Or maybe it just doesn’t like the new roof they picked 😂

The eavestrough looks like it’s hanging on for dear life.

Any experiences with Moovair?

I’m in Canada and got a good quote for a moovair heat pump and mini split system. Heat pump is MXHSA1832AN (18,000 BTU) and the head is MWHMA09C2AS1.

I checked a few other posts and reviews seem mixed so I wanted to see if there’s any experience with these particular units.

I’d be using it primarily for cooling in the summer (I’ll have it installed upstairs to cool about 400 sq ft / 3 bedrooms).

My dryer is very old and the vent situation is suboptimal. In another post, someone suggested looking at ventless if I decide to get a new one, so I looked at options and I’m drawn to the LG 7.8 cu.ft for price and size, but I’m having trouble finding user sentiment on it. Does anyone have it? Open to other suggestions, too!

I just moved into an older home with an old dryer (2004 mfg date). We vented it properly this week and when I used it tonight the back (inside and outside) got so hot I burned my hand when I touched it. The vent is blowing air outside and I checked the vent entry point in the machine just to be sure and it’s all clear. This is leading me to think it’s some sort of internal temperature control.

Any thoughts on anything else I can check? Would you repair or replace? Or get a quote first and compare to the cost of a new machine?

FWIW it’s a Samsung (DV4015J in case that means anything to anyone hah).

I recently moved into an old home that had wallpaper and trim mid way up the wall in one of the main floor rooms. The top part is also popcorn texture.

We took out one of the walls and now I’m trying to decide if we should do a plaster skim coat and patches or just mud. What do you all think?
