I feel like I don’t want to play in the Car format, but I’m also not confident they will actually ban it in the next round. I also want to practice for EW, but practicing against Car won’t be useful if they do ban it, and if they don’t ban it, I probably won’t travel to EW. I’m just feeling so stuck. I keep opening up Moxfield, putting together a deck that could be good against Car but also good practice for a similar post-Car deck, and then giving up.

Is anyone else feeling similarly?

He clearly is softening a bit - he let Bombsight go. You could interpret that as softening on HL too. However, I read the episode differently.

Depowering Bombsight was a test. He knows he can depower V1 supes now. Thus, he knows he can depower and kill HL, so he gave him the V1 as a false sign of being on his side. He even kissed his ass while doing it, completely out of character but fully leveraging HL’s daddy issues.

He wants to use HL for something, likely related to Stormfront. Maybe it requires flight, or laser eyes, or command of the US government. When that’s over, he will kill HL.

Either way, I don’t think Soldier Boy is suddenly team HL. I think Sage is actually right, SB hates HL. She was also right that he was too hard to read and she needed to have Backley read his mind. What she didn’t get was the right information, or all of the information. Maybe Backley purposefully withheld that info, but either way, it was information she just didn’t have available when she was making her plans so now she’s completely lost.
