Transitioning from Brooks Glycerin 23 to trail shoes — what should I get? (Do I need to try them on?)
Hey everyone,
I currently do all my road running in the Brooks Glycerin 23. I want to start hitting the trails and need a solid trail shoe.
Most of my local routes are hard-packed dirt, gravel paths, and some moderate rocky sections.
I have two main questions:
Which trail shoe would you recommend for someone owning the Glycerin 23? I know they feel great and I like it. Is there any direct transition shoe? I was told Brooks Caldera is the closest equivalent.
Is it absolutely necessary to try trail shoes on in-store first? Should I risk ordering online, or is an in-store fitting a must? There are not many stores around here.
Thanks in advance for the recommendations!
