Ghost Max 3 or Bondi 9s?

Going to Italy on my honeymoon for two weeks and am trying to decide if Brooks Ghost Max 3s or Hoka Bondi 9s would be better to pair with my custom orthotics. Going to be doing a lot of walking so my main concerns are keeping my feet comfortable and the shoe being durable.

Would appreciate any thoughts and am open to other suggestions as well.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 24 falling apart after a few days — is this normal?

Bought a pair of Adrenaline GTS 24s about a week ago and after just a few days of normal walking the toe rubber is already peeling and the interior heel logo on both shoes disappeared completely. Not running in them, just casual walking.

The upper materials and general construction felt cheap too. For a $100 flagship motion control shoe I expected better build quality. Has anyone else experienced this with the GTS 24 specifically or is this just a bad unit?

Reality check!

Bought these shoes from a not so well known website called Snagged & Bagged Every thing looks good except on the side where it says Guiderails. The letters aren't clean and the white stipes have have bumpsat the bottom. Just wondering if this is normal or if I should be worried.

Any fans of Brooks Launch?

I've been using Ghosts, Hyperion Max and Hyperion for awhile, but as a trail runner I tend to use lower stack and lower cushion shoes for races as they're often short, sharp and on an incline.

The Launch shoes interest me, anyone used them and has experience to share?

Adrenaline 25s are too spongy

between the lower heel to toe drop and how spongy these things are, my knees have been killing me- I think they're just not going to work.

I've been in Adrenalines forever. I don't really run, unless I'm reffing soccer; but I do walk a fair amount (mile or three almost every day with the dog). I'm carrying too much weight (6'1", 230ish) but that hasn't changed significantly in the past year or two.

So basically through process of elimination, it's the Adrenaline 25s.

What do I replace these with? For now I'm buying a few pairs of 22s and 23s that I found online. I tried the 24s when they came out and they didn't really feel right for me, so I went back to the 23s. I had read the 25s would be even more different and they were, but not in a good way.

Suggestions? I have monster arches (water can run sideways under my right foot), tore the hell out of my plantar fascia a few years ago, wear custom arch supporting orthotics, and still pronate a lot, so some kind of motion control shoe is best.

Is there another model in Brooks' line? Even more stability, with a heel drop like the Adrenalines used to have and not a gooey marshmallow heel?

Ghost Max 3 or Glycerin GTS 23?

Hey, so I had a gait analysis done back last September and they decided the best shoes for me were the ghost max 3 for running.

So I wore them for the end of last year, then I switched to Nike Vomero Plus but was getting shin splints constantly as I tend to have a overpronation so I switched back to my ghost max 3s.

They are now wrecked from the mileage I’ve been doing so need a new pair, I’m running a marathon in 6 weeks.

I have looked at the Hyperion Max 3 but I think they will be a lot like the vomeros with not enough support.

Shall I get another pair of the Ghosts or go for the Glycerin GTS 23s?

Anyone else nearly bust their ass in the rain?

I have the Glycerin 22's and 23's, both in which are worn for my retail job. They are great for that since I'm also walking a lot. However, I've had to go outside a few times of my car on rainy days and I've nearly busted my ass because of how non-existent the grip is when the ground is wet. I've learned to walk like I'm walking on ice during a winter day in Colorado even though I'm in Texas.

Anyone else? 😅

Ghost 17s worn out after ~120mi?

I just got back from an 11 day trip to Europe where I walked 10-15mi a day. The shoes were brand new and hadn’t been worn until I put them on to go to the airport. By the time the trip was over, the front tread was almost down to the foam, and in wet conditions it got pretty slick. The walking was in paved roads, some cobblestone. I’ve had this issue on my last 3 Ghost 17s in the last year where they wear down like this in the first 100mi. The shoes are comfy, they mold nicely to my feet, and are great to walk around in. I’ll admit I’m a big guy at 6’8” and 225lbs but a friend of mine with On Clouds walks similar distances, is heavier than me, and doesn’t have the treads being worn out after 100mi. I an a fairly neutral walker with a slight lateral wear pattern. Should I try a different Brooks product? I’ve worn Ghosts since the 12 and have really enjoyed the lineup, but I need my shoes to last a bit longer than they have.

Want to get a fun set of laces for the Ghost Max 3s. How long and wide should I get them? Seeing mixed answers online. Thanks!

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Lace length "Loop lacing" (Marathon Loop) / Ghost Max 3

Hi, I find the laces too short for a marathon loop with my new pair of Ghost Max 3s.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong. How do you do it?

Thanks.

Glycerin 23 (Brooks / Standard Width): Help me pick a color

I’m choosing between these 5 colorways for a 70% Treadmill / 30% Light Trail (maybe wet) split.

(from left to right

A. Blue/Spellbound/Starfish ;

B. Grey/Green/Black

C. Phantom/Orange/Sand

D. White/Phantom/Green Gecko

E. Bluewash/Lemon/Marina

hope the picture got uploaded)

I want to avoid the 'boring' shop defaults, but I’m worried about visual longevity ("getting dirty").

  1. Which looks best stylistically?
  2. Between these specific colorways, which one gets dirty the fastest and which hides it best?

Additional question: How fast gets D. White/Phantom/Green Gecko dirty?

Please evaluate only these choices, no other shoe models.

Thanks in Advance

Did I get fakes?

I bought these off of WhatNot. I paid $65. I’m new to running and wanted some new running shoes. Did I get fakes? I’ve had Brooks and these look a little suspicious. My other ones were made in Vietnam not Indonesia… I also just looked these up and can’t find a Revel 9?!?

This is a response to: Did I get fakes?

Pictures of Revel 8

With all my Brooks the Brooks logo on the shoe sole is in the front, not in the back..

You can also compare the inside of the Box

Revel 9 is not out yet..

Your shoe does look way to plushy

Ghost 18 firmer than 17?

Just got my pair of Ghost 18 and did my first 10k in them.

First impressions - they are firmer than my Ghost 17 with ~950km in them. Anyone else noticed it as well or is it just a matter of breaking them in?

Pour one out for my old buddies. Retiring them after a good long run… so to speak.

My Ghost Max OGs have been through a lot with me. We moved to a different country together, saw a lot of nature, and a lot of city miles. A good year and a half I got out of them. So long, old friend. You will be missed. 🫡

My first Brooks — Ghost Max L

I bought them for all-day wear, so I preferred the leather version. I think they’re both stylish and very comfortable. I’ve only been wearing them for two days, but they seem really good so far.

Ghosts of the Forest Green variety

Well, Ghost Max technically.

For those who caught my post about being disappointed with the Ghost 17s the other day, these are MUCH better for me. Super comfortable, roomy in the toe box, and very good for me as a heavier runner. My feet feel like they’re wading in a velvet sea… in a good way.

So now that I’ve told you the story of the Ghost Max, I’ve got to blaze on.

Knee Pain - Brooks Glycerin 23

I have recently gotten back into running as an adult. I was an athlete all throughout middle and high school and then fell off the bandwagon during college as a lot of people do. I’m currently in week 4 of couch to 5k and everything was going super well until last week when I started to experience some hip pain on a run. I took the weekend off of running and even went to my local running shoe store to be fitted for actual running shoes thinking that may be the problem. I was wearing some Adidas Cloudfoam tennis shoes and then bought Brooks Glycerin 23s. Walking through the store and around the house, I love them; however when I began my most recent run, I am experiencing pain around my knees on each step.

Does anyone have any advice? I’ve never experienced this before with running and the Brooks Glycerin seems like a pretty well loved shoe.

New Ghost 17's and I'm very disappointed.

Received my new Ghost 17's today and after trying them on I am not feeling too good about the decision to buy them. I wear size 7 1/2 US sizing. I had previously owned a pair of Ghost Max and a pair of Ghost Max 2 in that size. The new shoes are really tight. Like I can't move my toes. Should I not be expecting Ghost Max like comfort with these shoes? I guess I did not do enough research before buying them. Anyway, I'm going to return them and get something else but I don't know what. They are just for wearing at work. I'm on my feet a lot. Does anybody have any suggestions for me? Thanks.
