Floof tat

I got this as my first tattoo after years of telling myself I would get one but needed "the right design" 😹

Floof was my first cat and a best friend of mine and a super sweetie, so getting a fluffy black armband to memorialize her was 100% "the right design"

I'm so glad this subreddit exists!

New bike day!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking here, bikeless, for a while but my 2021 300 rally just arrived today with 6k miles and a handful of mods from the previous owner.

I already took off the tusk rear rack but kept the back plate (lmk if anyones looking to roll with the Tusk rack, I'm looking to get rid of it) and have some questions now that I'm deeper into the bike.

- photo of rear shock: can anyone id this? It looks to have a preload at the base, and a number on the white coil. Does stock have the adjustment down there? The bike feels stiffer than what everyone complains about but I'm 140# wet

- tips on removing heated grips? I don't plan to use them and if I end up needing them later for some reason I'll install it better than the last guy.

- when I hit like 18mph in 1st or 25mph in second, I hear a buzzy sound in maybe the front right fairing. It sounds plasticy and not enginey. I see there are some stick-on pads between fairing & tank, but they look intact.

- helmet lock: key turns like 80 degrees but nothing happens. Should the bar snap open?

I'm sure I'll be back for more tips as I go but so far parking lot riding is a blast 🤘🤘🤘

Adv or Dual beginner choice

Hey y'all

I just got my endorsement (US) and I learned on a serow/Xt225 which was super fun but old haha

My goal is to one day travel with something like an Africa or T7, but that's way oversized for my beginner chops.

Right now I've narrowed down to checking out two used bikes nearby:

2018 Crf250L Rally - because it's lightweight and seems like a better option for getting practice on trails (light 4x4) as I go.

Himilayan 450 - because it seems more comfortable for long distance and I'm in Colorado where everything is a distance over I get out into the world after parking lot practice. Longer fuel range, more carrying capacity and closer in weight to something in the T7 range (or a loaded world traveler bike)

Price range is marked around 3.5k and both fit that bill.

Open to other ideas, but for example I think klr650 is probably too much bike for me right now. I don't need this to be a one-and-done bike, but I'd like to build skill/familiarity with that type of riding.

Bonus option: I did find a Xt225 with like 7k miles on it nearby, so I could just stick with the oldie :)

Thx

Hey all, I changed my pixel search engine from Google to DDG a few months ago because I was so sick of Google processing e.g. "How long to boil hard boiled eggs" through its AI search tool. So unnecessary for probably 99% of things people search. Alas, DDG allows me to turn that off so I was on board.

Unfortunately, it seemed like unless I was searching for a very specific topic, like a specific store or business, almost all the results would be what seemed like websites created through AI tools or something similar. Like really vague and summarized - and unreliable blog posts about the subject I searched for.

Then when I use Google on a computer, the results (below the AI summary) are for actual websites that are reliable sources of info.

Anyone else finding this, or know a way to adjust DDG?
