Mission 1 EIS jitters

Folks what's up with the mission 1 EIS jitters in poor light (i.e under tree shade on a hiking track, early morning) . I thought GoPro hypersmooth was supposed to be state of the art. Is it poor on the Mission 1 in particular or is it just like that ?.

Mission 1 linear lens still fish eye

Reviewing my vacation footage and noticed that even though I had set the lens to linear still getting a fish eye look. Its particularly bad with people , unless in centre of frame and very far away then they come out like standing in front of a crazy mirror.

Is there anything that can be done to prevent this in the Mission 1 settings or is it just a byproduct of an ultra wide lens ?

I assume I could dewarp in post via Davanci ?

It just kind of sucks if I have to do a lot of post work just to get my footage looking normal. i hope they add a dewarp feature in a future firmware.

Magneto door + mission point & shoot grip

Hey Gopro , who was the genius that designed the point and shoot grip so it doesn't fit the Contacto door cover?

Anyone know of a work around?

My mission 1 wish list

Even though I have mixed feelings about mine a macro lens with a focus " flower" & "mountains" and a firmware update to tweak a few things would be incredible.

Floating grip for mission 1

Hi, can anyone confirm whether the floating handgrips e.g the handler or floaty will work for the mission. Ai is telling me the cam is too heavy for the handler and also too big for the floaty.

Mission 1 low light settings

Hi there, being trying out various low light settings but so far the footage looks pretty meh. Not really much of an improvement over my old Samsung s23. Tbh I thought the 1inch sensor would blow it away . Low light mode is soso and when shooting manual keeping iso to 1600. The camera is on a tripod so hypersmooth is off. Any suggestions as to settings to get the most out of the camera in low light.

The Mission 1 release shows what a sad place the internet has become

So still waiting for my mission 1 to arrive as its got held up at customs. Been watching vids and following this reddit while I wait.

It wasn't until now that I realised how much misinformation, poor advice and useless compassions existed out there.

Here are my annoyances:

fricken useless youtube vloggers & influencers :

  1. Don't have have the camera, never tested it and compare off specs .

  2. Have the camera and walk around with it pointing at their face or some static shots of a tree in the park. Get a pocket 3/4 or a Luna and been done with it .

  3. As #2 but include other action cams- useless as before.

Out of all the "reviews" out there I've come to trust about 5%.

To end on a more positive note. Reviews I do like/would like to see more of:

  1. Semi pro or amateur filmographers who actually know something about exposure, lighting, grading etc.. Some good ones on this reddit.

  2. Reviews where the cam is used as a classic action cam & POV sports/adventure. Again some good ones on this reddit.

  3. For technical "quality" reviews more please against other 1inch cams, not endless comparisons against hero13 or other action cams. So hard to find.

Rant over.

Mission 1 reviews conclusion

So what's the take way after all the reviews.?

From I can see the mission 1 only makes incremental improvements over the competition in regards to image quality and low light performance.

It's nowhere near the "game changer" the gopro hype was making it out to be.

It's well overpriced.

Finally, id like to see a shoot out vs the pocket 3/4 or another 1 inch camera. The comparisons to the hero13 are a waste of time.
