Garage Door Won't Close

Original Problem: Garage door would not open & sensor was blinking red.

Solution: Replaced sensors, garage door opened as normal.

New Problem: Garage door won't close.

It will move a few inches then jerk to a stop when coming down. I've tried this from the fully open position and with the door a foot or two off the ground, same result. Lights are on and solid on new sensors.

After inspecting the door & tracks I noticed:

  • This left side roller is out of alignment.
  • Most of the bolts holding the roller brackets in were loose on the left side, especially on the out of alignment roller. I tightened a lot of them but others felt like they just kept spinning.
  • There is a gap between these two track piece right before the curve starts on the right side.
  • Other than the photo I included, I didn't see anything particularly wrong with the tracks, but I also don't know what I'd be looking for.

Opener is a Genie Intellicode if it's relevant.

I think my next step is to replace this roller.... but I've never worked on or done any kind of trouble shooting on a garage door and a bit out of my element.

Are there other things I should be checking?

Pre-diagnosis: When your symptoms started, how soon after did you see a doctor?

Another user posted a meme about the pre diagnosis water chugging/pee cycle and it had me thinking about that period of my life for the first time in a long time.

While reading through the comments and thinking of my own experiences, I started wondering how long others waited after symptoms started to go get checked out.

Days/weeks/months?

For me, I was a kid (<10) and came down with a cold. The cold went away but I started the chug/pee cycle, barely ate, had no energy, etc. This went on for maybe 3-4 weeks and then my parents took me to the ER after I physically could not get out of bed one morning.

I realized I never asked any other T1 diabetics this question so I was curious.
