So happy with our deck

Before adding the deck, our backyard access from our main floor was going down a narrow stairwell off our kitchen and through the laundry room. Now, it's straight off our dining room.

Total cost was 70k ina VHCOL area, including adding the 11ft sliding door and the supporting structural engineering work. Material is trex transcend jasper. Worst part was it took 10 months for our permits to get approved.

Last photo is the backyard "before". We still kept half of the lower patio uncovered from the deck.

Bubblebum Teleport

Has anyone tried the bubblebum Teleport travel booster? Its size seems slightly more portable than a rigid backless booster, but isn't inflatable so doesn't have the submarining risk. But, it seems like theres no reviews for it on the usual websites.

I'm looking for something for traveling with my 5yo (46in 45lbs) and something he can use for an occasional Uber.

Space Rock- Lunar Adventure

Please help our family figure out these lyrics: "it's a lunar adventure, we're rocking on a ____"??

Maybe this is obvious to others, but its taken me awhile to get to this point and I wanted to put it out there in case it helps other working moms. Also, an upfront acknowledgement that a housekeeper isn't something everyone can afford and this is coming from a place of privilege.

I recently asked my house keepers if they'd be willing to come more often (weekly instead of biweekly) and help with some additional tasks they weren't previous doing:

-can I leave the house messy before you come...i.e. make no effort to tidy up toys, kids rooms, etc. before you clean

-unload the dishwasher and clean up the morning breakfast mess we always leave in our wake as we rush out for drop offs

-fold and put away the whole families laundry (we washed the day before)

-change all the bed sheets and towels

-restock the house of toilet paper and paper towels from the basement storage

-vacuum the main living space every week rather than biweekly

It's been so helpful to have someone else taking on some of these tasks that eat away at our free time or the time we wish we could spend with the kids. It costs a little more but we'll worth our time saved.
