Hi! I purchased a Yoto Mini two years ago for my daughter who was nearly 3 at the time. She is almost 5 now and I have a 3 year old as well that I’m thinking about getting her own mini yoto for IF I can commit to handing it to them and having them use it. Everyone raves about the yoto’s but my kids never gravitated towards it. Is that my fault? Did you just continuously offer it to your kids to use? How long did it take them to get into it? I’m wondering if it’s bc I chose the wrong cards for her and she wasn’t able to attend to the stories at her age yet. sigh. I have to find it for her as it’s lost somewhere but want to reintroduce it to her to see if it will stick this time

I really like the content of the BrainBots cards and I know my kid would enjoy a lot of it too, but the voices are completely intolerable. Are there other series that are similar that anyone could recommend? I'd like to get a few more educational cards for my kid for Christmas. He's 3.5 and loves learning things, loves the longer form cards. His top cards right now are all the Julia Donaldson books we have as cards, the BBC Winnie the Pooh, We Are Water Protectors, and Luca. I also like all of these because the voices are very soothing (except the voices for Kanga and Roo in the Winnie the Pooh one).

I just got into the Make your own cards and I'm looking for more content and to share information with others.

We have been looking into Yoto or Tonie for my 14 month old son. After our research we are leaning towards Yoto as a better long term option (and for other reasons). However, we can’t decide if my son is too young for a Yoto now or if we should wait until maybe his 2nd birthday. How young have your children used the Yoto?

My son is 14 months and is a very busy guy. He loves music and dancing though. He understands that the buttons on his Little People bus, fire truck etc. controls the music and sounds they play. He will even press the button to get to the short song on it opposed to just the sounds. He does however still put EVERYTHING in his mouth and destroys some of his books.

Would anything happen to the cards if put in the mouth and chewed? Can they be bent (it sounds like they can be ripped)? What happens if a player is dropped?

For a 14 month old would you recommend a Gen 3 (on sale) or a Gen 4 (we would wait and see if they go on sale)? Also, would the mini or the full size be better at this age?

Have two 2024 minis on order for Christmas presents for 8 and 4yo. I expect them to use them in the house and out and about, especially when on road trips and caravanning. Do I need to get them adventure jackets?

I remember everything going on sale in my target and some posts of people saying it was moving from electronics to toy section near tonies. Mine had some sales in the electronic dept months ago but now....no Yoto at all! What are you guys seeing (or not seeing) at target by you? I also saw in their marketing recently something about Walmart?

Hi! New to the Yoto world. I’m looking at the 2024 gen Yoto Mini. Is $59.99 a good deal or will Black Friday be better?
Also, I keep seeing things about referral. What is this?

We use the Yoto Club daily. My kids and I looked at the collection on 10/06 and there was a TON of new options. We were very excited. My son started listening to the Cruise Ship Kid and Awesome Friendly Spooky Stories 2. My daughter made a list of some of the other new longer book options. Then last night (10/08), they were all gone. This was in the same time frame as the Slumber Bot was pulled, so wondering if they will reupload the new content and if it was a complication of pulling that card or if the entire this was uploaded in error? Idk, we're frustrated. I've been questioning if the club membership is worth it bc there is limited new content. We got excited and I was hopeful the new content was a sign of commitment to the yoto club members buttttttt now I just have upset kids that want to finish books that have evaporated over night....

I'm wanting to put a complete podcasts on yoto for my older kids. (It's a DnD podcast for families - the reslayers take).

As far as I can see, the only way to put a podcast on is to use the automatic system that does the latest episodes only (doesn't work for a podcast like this one). I have seen a way with some software but that will require a subscription (don't want to do another one if those if possible).

Any suggestions?

Is it just me, or does your color printer ink cartridge only last for about 3-5 pages before it starts to get lines and streaks in it? I’ve long been aware that printer companies like HP make all their money on wildly inflated ink cartridge prices, but it never really affected me until I started printing more stuff in color for my kid (like MYO card labels). I thought this community might be fully of crafty people who have good ideas about how to save money on printer ink! What am I doing wrong? Is it worth swapping out my old HP printer for something with cheaper ink?

What do all the buttons do on the yoto mini - I found power on, and volume (and icon switching?), but I have no idea how to switch tracks. and I don't know what pressing either dial does.

On Yoto’s website. Are they likely to restock?

I have a 5 year old and an almost 3 year old. My 5 year old has a Yoto mini 3rd gen that he loves. We are only 1 year in so we haven’t amassed a lot of cards yet. Maybe 20 at most because he has a few MYOs full of a lot of podcasts and other stories (3+ hrs of content per card haha)

Anywho, I’m thinking of getting a full sized Yoto for home use. Main reason is for better sound quality for both boys to listen to audio together. Maybe occasionally to take into the car so it’s louder for both to listen to better. And then occasionally if they want to listen to different things, having two players they can use separately. I could just get another mini but I just wanted something a bit louder than the current mini.

We have Yoto club that will expire soon sometime in Nov or Dec. Was hoping to wait until Black Friday sales to see what the price of both the gen 3 and gen 4 full sized will be.

I’m currently leaning towards gen 3 because I feel like it covers most of what I’m looking for at a cheaper price. I can’t buy secondhand as I’m in Nz and there really aren’t that many people reselling yotos here. My only reason for considering Gen 4 was for some of the slight upgrades with larger memory, faster downloads and maybe better sound. I don’t have many feelings about the green button but I guess if we kept our Yoto club subscription, my kids could just have a few of those Yoto cards exclusive to club on rotation for easy access that I don’t have to bother making cards for 😅.

I’ve seen reviews for gen 4 minis, are there any yet for gen 4 full sized? Are they out yet?

Edit: just saw somewhere that then Gen 3 full sized might sell out before Black Friday sales 🫣 oh dear. I’m trying to not let that scare me into buying it now haha.

Has anyone made their own pixel art? I know there are resources for finding ones that others have made, but I'd like to create some myself. Any recommendations for apps or websites to use?
