I really like the content of the BrainBots cards and I know my kid would enjoy a lot of it too, but the voices are completely intolerable. Are there other series that are similar that anyone could recommend? I'd like to get a few more educational cards for my kid for Christmas. He's 3.5 and loves learning things, loves the longer form cards. His top cards right now are all the Julia Donaldson books we have as cards, the BBC Winnie the Pooh, We Are Water Protectors, and Luca. I also like all of these because the voices are very soothing (except the voices for Kanga and Roo in the Winnie the Pooh one).

Just upgraded my phone to a Pixel 10. Did a data transfer and I need to transfer my text messages from my old device to my Pixel 10. I have tried everything that I can find. I'm not the most tech savvy but I am also not technologically impaired either.

I have tried the OneDrive suggestion of backing up all text messages and then restoring through OneDrive. This option tells me I have 5.7GB of messages. Backup never completes and doesn't give me any error codes. Just stuck looking as though it's buffering forever.

I have tried the separate app, SMS Backup & Restore. This never completes a backup either. It will get to 100% and then start over again until I need to leave it alone. I'll come back and check it, and it'll say it failed due to insufficient storage.

For my google cloud storage I have 65GB free. On my local storage I have 45GB free.

Some of my text messages DID transfer over with the initial "Data Copy & Transfer", initiated when I set up my phone. However, all of my most recent texts within the messages app stop on the same date: October 31, 2023. It seems like too much of a coincidence that it all stops on that date but I can't find any information that may explain it to me.

Is anyone on earth able to help? I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or what to try next.

Not really sure what to tag this as, so I went with Mental Health because it seemed most appropriate.

My partner and I have two kids. One is about 3.5yrs old, and the other is about to be 6 months old. My partner's parental leave has just ended, mine doesn't end until October. The nanny has our oldest 4 days a week, so for one day a week I will have both children at home solo. Thankfully our oldest has finally been accepted to a daycare, after a 2 year wait. However, it doesn't start until September.

Sorry for the long preamble. My question is: when do you stop feeling intense anxiety around having both children on your own? I keep waiting for it to alleviate - I know that with my oldest I've felt better and more confident as he's gotten more independent. When he started to be able to crawl was the biggest change, and it's all been onwards and upwards since. So I keep coping by thinking, it all gets easier. And all told, it's only 6 days total that I have both kids solo before my oldest starts daycare! One day a week. It's so little time in the scheme of things - so why does it feel like the world is going to end if I have both kids on my own?

Some potentially relevant information: I really don't enjoy the newborn/infant stage. I don't dislike my kid or anything, it's just that I've learned that I enjoy everything after the infant stage way more. When they can laugh, play, interact, that kinda stuff. Also, both my kids are super super easy, so I feel horribly guilty that I don't feel capable of handling them both at once.

Is this normal? Did anyone else feel overwhelmed when they had a second? If so, when did it start to alleviate for you? It's really wreaking havoc on my mental wellness and I'm not sure what else to do.

I finally had the time to sit down and parse through the spa day instructions, and make notes for myself to make everything more straightforward. I'd like to double check my understanding, but I also have a couple of related questions.

QUESTION ONE: I use unscented liquid detergent, and I was thinking about Spa Day Option 1 which requires The Unscented Company tablets. I can't seem to find the tablets, but I can find their liquid detergent. I can't find the ingredients for their detergent though. Is that a suitable substitute for the tablets? I checked the lipase list but don't see it on there.

QUESTION TWO: I can only find sudsy LEMON ammonia. I know the instructions say it'll work just fine so to go ahead and use it - however. I don't wash my clothes with any kind of scents, ever. Would the "lemon" bit of the ammonia stick to my clothes? Or would it dissipate, same as the ammonia itself? If I will end up with scented clothes I will have to keep trying to find regular ammonia.

SPA DAY UNDERSTANDING: I'm going to go with either option 1 or option 3. So here's my simplistic breakdown of each, to double check in understanding the instructions properly. I have a top loader and I'm in Canada.

Option 1: Dissolve 1 Unscented Company Tablet for every 4L of 60°C water. Submerge clothes, apply some kind of weight to keep clothes submerged for 8-12hrs. Drain clothes (but don't wring out), put them in the washer. Add 1 Unscented Company Tablet for every 4L of water in the dispenser, and after the washer has filled with water, add the correct measurement of ammonia as per the instructions on the ammonia itself. Wash on heavy duty or normal cycle in hot or warm water as per the the fabric being washed.

Option 3: Dissolve 1/4c Oxiclean AND 2tbsp my normal detergent for every 4L of 60°C water. Submerge clothes, apply some kind of weight to keep clothes submerged for 8-12hrs. Drain clothes (but don't wring out), put them in the washer. Add 1/4c Oxiclean AND 2tbsp regular detergent for every 4L of water (Oxiclean dissolved in the bottom of the basket and detergent in the dispenser), and after the washer has filled with water, add the correct measurement of ammonia as per the instructions on the ammonia itself. Wash on heavy duty or normal cycle in hot or warm water as per the the fabric being washed.

This is a very random question, but I am absolutely certain this group can help me.

A few months ago, my ancient washer died. I was heartbroken because it was simple, straightforward, and always did a great job. We replaced it with a brand new too loading washer. Due to the fact that my old washer didn't have a detergent drawer, I always just measured out detergent or anything else I was adding to the wash (vinegar, oxiclean, whatever I needed for whatever I was cleaning) and threw it on top of the clothes. I've just continued doing this with the new one, mostly just out of habit.

I can't help but wonder though, is the detergent drawer absolutely necessary and should I be using it? My clothes are still getting clean regardless. They're bright, stains are gone, no residue in the washer or on my clothes. Same as always. But is there a specific reason why I should work on changing my habits and start using the drawer?

My partner and I have been living together for a little over a decade now. We haven't bothered filing our taxes together, there just didn't seem to be any reason to do so (neither of us had anything to file besides one T4 each).

However, we now have an infant, a toddler, recently purchased a house (a 2 apartment home, we are renting out both apartments while prepping it to eventually move into ourselves, we rent the home we live in while that's happening), we both have RRSPs, started RESPs for the kids, and my partner recently got a raise.

I have a feeling that it will be in our best interest to start filing our taxes jointly, but I want to be sure before we do. I always hear about people who are able to offset their tax bills with their partners income. I'm incredibly low income (currently on parental leave, but typically make $15k or less per year) but my partner has a higher income. Due to a work event this calendar year (2026) my partners income will be 50% higher when we do 2026 taxes.

While I know it's difficult to accurately give advice without actually seeing our books and talking to us, I'm having a *lot* of difficulty finding an accountant to schedule an appointment with to get some advice. So I figured I'd probe the internet to see what the general consensus is. I'm sick of trying and failing to find someone to talk to and I want to get my taxes filed.

I am having the most infuriating issue and no amount of searching has given me a result.

I have a Firestick plugged into my TV. I have an Audible account. I'd like to listen to audiobooks at night so there is a low level of noise for my infant and my mind can relax.

Every instruction I can find online tells me it's as simple as going to "apps", typing in "Audible", and clicking "get". Every single time I do this, nothing happens. And I mean nothing. Audible doesn't show up in the search. I don't even get as far as "get" because it's as if Audible doesn't exist.

I'm at the end of my rope. My partner gave it a go and he spoke into the remote "open Audible" and somehow AUDIBLE OPENED? So if it can be opened with a voice command, why can't I find it *WITHOUT* a voice command? I cannot use the voice commands without waking my kid up. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I find it? What is my missing link here?

For the love of god, please help a desperate 3 month postpartum mom of two who just wants to sleep while my TV broadcasts the verbal destruction of the One Ring.

Cloth diapering my second kid now. I have basically all La Petite Ourse. With my first kid, we didn't go all in on LPO until he was older, so we only needed to use one button to shorten the diaper for the proper fit, and then none at all.

My second kid is now 3 months old and I can't seem to figure out the inserts for the cloth diapers and get to a good place. I've tried the typical 2 inserts, I've tried one insert, I've tried charcoal instead of bamboo.

My problem is that the inserts stick out of the flaps on each side of the diaper when the diaper is shortened. Obviously this causes leaks because the insert gets wet and it isn't inside the diaper. I'm going absolutely crazy here, I cannot figure out how to get the inserts to fit in the shell properly with the shell shortened for his height. Any tips?
