I need some guidance regarding my MacBook Air M2 2022.
Suddenly, the built-in keyboard and trackpad stopped working. I searched online and tried multiple shortcut combinations and fixes. Interestingly, when I press:
Command + Shift + Option + Power button
the trackpad starts working again, but the keyboard still does not work at all.
Things I have already tried:
- Restarted the MacBook multiple times
- Tried different keyboard reset / shortcut methods found online
- Reinstalled macOS completely
- Checked basic software-related fixes
- External keyboard works, but the built-in keyboard does not respond
Even after reinstalling macOS, the issue is still the same, so I am not sure whether this is a software, firmware, or hardware issue.
Has anyone faced this issue on a MacBook Air M2 2022 before? Could this be related to the keyboard/trackpad flex cable, logic board, firmware, or some known Apple hardware issue?
Any guidance would be highly appreciated before I take it to a repair shop or Apple service center.
