FatigueSense: Free Visible Alternative / Companion App!

If you’ve been wishing that Visible gave more guidance and helped you identify your own triggers and recovery signs, today is your lucky day!

FatigueSense

- Cost: Free
- Platform: iOS & Android
- Created by: Newcastle University and NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

PROS

- It automatically sets your daily points based on your personal metrics
- Works with most wearables & apps you already use
- Shows you your unique biometrics and how they positively and negatively affect your fatigue
- Has a simple mode for if you don’t want to see as much detail
- Shows your PEM risk for each day (this is what Visible calls stability score - this makes so much more sense)
- There’s a day planner where you can estimate how much time and effort it took, and it learns how much energy it takes to do them based on your data
- Uses steps as an added pacing - which accurately flagged me as being at high risk for PEM, even though I only had a low pace points total
- Free!

Bonus: They are actively developing a features that are more accurate to users who are bed bound

CONS

- It’s a lot of information, but the simple mode helps a lot
- I haven’t found that its heart rate alerts are as prominent as I need them to be, so I sometimes mis them and realize that I’ve used up all my points - but this may be a user issue

Has anyone else tried it? Right now it’s working great for me alongside Visible, but I could definitely see myself switching over to it full time.

Have you tried it? What did you think?

Is your member support tab loading?

My app is showing me in “activity” while I’m sitting down working, so I thought I’d contact support…

…and that section of the app won’t load for me.

I’m going to find a way to email support, but I wanted to know if it’s just my app or if there’s a wider outage.

Everything else works so I’m guessing that this isn’t an issue with Visible, but instead it might be that the help desk app that they’re integrated with for customer service is having an outage.

Details:
- I’m an iPhone user
- App is fully updated
- I’ve force quit the app and restarted 5+ times
- No other areas of the app are affected

The error message is:
“Something went wrong. This content can not be loaded”

Anyone else?

Does anything help ease the burning feeling?

Anything that's been helpful to you would be incredible to hear about!

Where I live is in a heat wave right now and of course my air conditioner died. I installed it yesterday and overnight had the worst flare-up that I've had in about six months.

My hands feel like there's lava in my blood vessels. It’s a searing, burning pain from the inside, intolerably hot, with some light tingling and stiffness and tenderness when I try to use them. I can’t sleep through it and was awake for 3-4 hours.

I've learned that thismight be nerve pain... And nothing seems to help!

Heat is a little helpful but also intensifies the burning feeling that's already unmanageable.
Voltaren didn't seem to help.
At night I already take prescription muscle relaxers, THC, and magnesium.

The only thing that helps a tiny bit is icing them for long periods of time.

I have an appointment with my doctor and an initial physiotherapy appointment to have somebody take a look at my hands.

**Is there ANYTHING you have found that makes a dent in this searing, burning pain? ☹**️

How do you decide whether to increase or decrease your LDN dose when pain gets worse? Is it mostly trial and error?

I’ve seen conflicting guidance on this subreddit. Some people recommend lowering the dose when pain persists, while others say pain may respond better to a higher dose. Are there any symptoms, patterns, or other factors that can help indicate which direction to try first?

I’m taking LDN for ME/CFS and fibromyalgia pain. I started at 0.5 mg about a year ago and slowly titrated up to 4 mg over six months. I’ve stayed at 4 mg for the past six months.

After each increase, I experienced a temporary flare in pain, usually lasting several days to two weeks. The pain was mostly localized to my hands, where I have a history of intermittent pain and repetitive strain injuries dating back to my twenties. At times, the flares were severe enough to wake me at night multiple times and limit me to less than two hours of keyboard use, but they always settled down within two weeks.

When I reached 4 mg, however, the hand pain became much more severe and never resolved. Six months later, it is still a daily problem, and I’ve had to significantly limit how much I use my hands. I have a fairly high pain tolerance because of fibromyalgia, so I’ve tried waiting it out, but this no longer seems like a temporary adjustment period.

My doctor does not think it is carpal tunnel, and I have a physiotherapy assessment next week to get their input. I don’t have any known arthritis. Before starting LDN, my hands were sensitive to repetitive fine-motor activities such as knitting or crocheting, but the pain rarely affected my everyday functioning.

For people who have experienced persistent or increased pain on LDN, what helped you decide whether to reduce your dose, increase it, or stop? Did your prescriber use any particular signs or criteria, or was it simply a process of carefully trying different doses?

Found an official feedback form for last night’s alerts!

I know a lot of us got a huge number of alerts during the storms and tornado warnings.

Thanks to a comment by u/qwartx, I found out that Manitoba has a feedback form for the emergency alert system:

https://forms.gov.mb.ca/emergency-alert-feedback/

Whether you thought they were helpful, too vague, overwhelming, or somewhere in between, this is probably the best place to let the province know.

Figured I’d share it in case anyone else wanted to provide feedback.
