My experiences with budget projectors in India below 12k INR i.e 120$

Hey Guys,

Im based in India and projectors are still catching up. Very limited hands on comparisons are available here or even on youtube, and I recently i tried couple of budget projectors, my budget was specifically below 12k INR. I tried the following projectors and here are my short reviews for them. Least to better within the ones i tried.

All testing done with amazon firestick via hdmi port, at night in a dark room as none of these can be used in medium light let alone daytime. Internal apps of all these projectors are buggy, laggy and dont run at full resolution.

Egate 4x air (75-80$): 720p native. projected from 12 feet, pixelated projection, text was hazy, image was blurred, brightness was decent 400 iso, contrast 6000:1 was decent. auto focus and keystone worked good. point anywhere remote. but i would strictly keep a filter of 1080p native and stay away from all 720p projectors. big no.

Wzatco yuva go plus (80-85$): 1080p native, 9000 lumens, 5000:1 contrast. manual focus, auto vertical keystone, 4 point correction. brightness just acceptable, contrast poor. colours washed out. high fan noise. looks cheap too. remote has to be pointed at back of the projector. manual focus focuses either on center or on edges.

Portronics Beem 450 Gen 1(80-85$) (gen 2 has auto focus and auto keystone, rest everything is same) : 1080p native, had only manual vertical keystone and manual focus. for horizontal you have to use the leveling screw on the projector. throw ratio was on higher side, so projection size from same distance was smaller than other projectors. remote has to be pointed at back of the projector. brightness 4000 lumens decent, contrast not mentioned anywhere just about decent. high fan noise.

Egate atom 4x+ (95-100$) : doesnt look cheap. 400 iso brightness, 6000:1 contrast. auto focus, auto keystone. auto focus did not work properly out of the box, manual focus buttons on remote have limited range for tuning which did not result in a proper sharp focus. (manual focus of the wzacto yuva go plus was better in achieving good focus) decent brightness, decent contrast. colours still a bit washed out not plush but better than above models. lower fan noise, good throw ratio. point anywhere remote. for this one i'd actually prefer atom 4x(90-95$) instead of 4x+ bcoz of manual focus working better than auto, rest every specification is exactly the same. If someone is starting their projector journey on a minimum budget, egate 4x is where id "personally" start at. everything below is a no go for me.

Wzatco yuva bolt (100-110$) : Still in transit. will update the review here. 1080p native, dustproof sealed engine, brightness 11000/12000 lumens which is equivalent to egate 5x series models and all of them are priced above 12k. contrast is 7000:1/6000:1 on their website (they have put both dnt know which one is true). auto focus (sadly would have loved it if it came with manual focus), auto keystone. bluetooth voice remote. will update as i test it.

The other ones i have not tried below 12k are crossbeats beam x, wzatco yuva go max or maybe others, you tell me.

I hope i was able to clear and set up some expectations about these budget devices. They have their limitations around use cases but some of them can and do actually workout for casual users. How long they will last, i dont know. maybe a little longer if yyou dont move them around much and handle them with care. Atleast for 1 year they're covered in warranty.

Just next to soundcore motion boom

Returning to this sub after years. have been a regular and had tops around 12 speakers at one time. have slowly rationalised and down to 3. im currently looking at replacing my soundcore motion boom OG with a one size larger speaker. i use it for movies, on the patio, travel. it feels a little underpowered specially for movies in my 16x12 room where i hook it up with a projector. but i love its form factor specially the 1.5kg weight and the superb battery that lasts forever. im looking for an upgrade to this but just one size bigger. i dont want to move into stormbox blast/uboom x territory(which weight 5+kg) as i still want to use it for travel and around the house purposes. the only contender it seems to me is stormbox lava as per my limited research.

Please suggest within the requierd filters.

trying to callibrate by system. your views on the above would be really helpful.

context is that tuning my algo. i have a trend regime filter which works on a combination of supertrend and EMA. output of this filter varies on time frame and sensitivity value. 1H low sensitivity vs 4H high sensitivity, which one would have better accuracy. im running this on xauusd pair. low sensitivity means less signals, high sensitivity means more signals.
