Rooking in Duos is unfair, for them.
Popped an exfil to leave with just enough salvage to level up a node, ended up somehow catching a duo completely off guard.
Revive stuck at 19 seconds
Not sure if it was an environmental error or what but we were unable to rez our teammate after he was fully eliminated in Narsh. He tried to disconnect and reload but no dice. Haven’t heard or seen any clips of a bug like this before.
Also, silly rook with nothing but a pistol and a dream.
PSS: do not use Marathons internal chat prox or otherwise (Read)
Was playing Vault Breakers today and in my lonesome I got cornered by bots and came within an inch of my life. In my frustration and panic I said some gamer words, not racial slurs or anything but certainly something I wouldn’t say in public. Immediately, about a minute later I got a warning in my account.
Here is the kicker… I was playing SOLO VB and had my headset on without my mic muted. Also, I have been playing almost entirely VB since launch with exclusively RL friends so it’s not something from before.
I know the over censorship crowed will clap like seals but this is a massive overreach. I’ll be using discord exclusively from now on. I will not have my account at risk for shit I paid for over trivial nonsense like this and you should t either.
Sorry everyone, but me and my crew will now be part of the “mic-less” if we crew full going forward due to Bungies shit show policy.
Edit: I’m on PS5. Threw on a headset which by default has open mic for teams chat. Didn’t mute, didn’t think anything of it. Here we are.
Hilarious moment last night for me and my drunken mates.
This was shot from my buddies POV. I’m the guy talking initially to the down runner. I was gonna be chill and let this guy do his quest… my buddy only saw purps and heard the call of Arachne.
Cryo Archive: Beginners Mode
Sure I’ll get burned to hell for this but I feel strongly about this and I feel it would solve a ton of anxiety folks have around Cryo while also solving the of the biggest complaints I see from all players of Cryo.
I didn’t start playing Cryo until the end of season 1 and the first 3-5 hours were ROUGH. The map is confusing as hell and the PvP + PvE is insane. The mechanics are confusing and so much more.
Now that I’m a “seasoned” player of Cryo (30+ hrs) and have started regularly posting about in this thread and elsewhere and I see an overwhelming amount of people commenting how they “don’t bother” or “not worth it” or “too sweaty” or that they just don’t want to have to lose everything to learn a complicated map.
Here is my proposal: similar to what they offer to brand new players up to level 12 for perimeter, have a playlist that does the following:
Beginners Cryo playlist
first 10 matches - approx 5 hrs game time
Max team spawns is 2 - low pressure learn the map
All other mechanics/requirements stay the same, all of them.
Players who have already complete 10 matches will not qualify for the playlist or see it dissolve once’s exceeded.
Maybe a Sherpa system?
By far the most difficult hurdle for people is to learn the map. Ironically, map knowledge is the single most important skill for Cryo. It’s not PvP, it’s not gear, it’s knowledge. I had a crew fill guy who ended up being our Sherpa, unintentionally, and he lead me and another new guy through 6 successful runs back to back getting all subroutines done, without firing a SINGLE SHOT at another team. Anytime we got pushed or ran into another team, we used map knowledge to gtfo and escape.
I feel so strongly about this because this map is honestly an absolute masterpiece of design. There isn’t anything like it and everyone should experience it that plays marathon. Additionally, with more people exposed to the map the more likely people will play cryo and create a healthier player base. Less frustration of seasoned players who want to have, at a minimum, a player that has basic understanding and can play support roles.
Seriously, give crew fill cryo a try!
I’ve had an exceptional weekend. More wins than loses (like wtf). Even if the player count goes down it leaves behind good to great players with tons of sherpas. Don’t be afraid to try it out! Even a compiler run (first for me) that we don’t quite get down in time but still got out.
Seriously, give crew full cryo a chance.

I opened 30 Wall safes (Hack Containers) so you don’t have to
Here are some interesting statistics I kept track of as it pertains to wall safes. This was conducted on perimeter sponsor over the course of a few nights.
Method
Predominately ran Triage for easy heals and inventory space.
Assassin is also a great choice to easily complete other container events around the map that spawn adds (way more loot but less heals).
Rook is also an option but many people run wall safe routes. If runners don’t loot the safes this is a faster method plus you can easily take down runners since rooks are so rare.
Results (loot)
8 of the 30 safes contained a key (26% chance).
2 of the 8 keys were were for perimeter (compromised) and so I generally had to open the key room in the same run, especially if you are running rook (very little time) or you need a matter fixative. So about a 5-10% chance of a wall safe dropping a perimeter key.
All other keys were for dire marsh (non compromised). It seems that even before I started tracking the data, it only drops marsh or a rare chance for perimeter. Never received an outpost key.
Second screen shot shows all my marsh keys (10) I have gotten from sponsor Peri. Outpost and cryo are from other sources.
1 wall safe provided a superior quality valuable
Another 25% (8/30) of the safes had blue valuables (often multiple)
Most common look is green valuables that give faction exp when exfilled with.
All keys were of deluxe quality.
Other notes of interest:
Only 3 runs out of thirty contained a single wall safe. That means there is a 90% chance of two safes to spawn per run on perimeter.
In sponsor peri you will spawn 75% of the time at north relay. About 25% of the time at south relay. I didn’t see any other spawn locations, unless you play rook then it appears much more random.
Wall safe path was NR -> Haul -> overflow -> SR -> Station
If you spawn at SR just reverse the path and end at station.
You can easily hit all POI wall safes and have plenty of time to run a key room (if it drops) if you exclusively focus on wall safes.
POIs that seem to have the highest spawn rate, in order, Hauler -> overflow -> station. North relay by far is the lowest followed by south relay. I didn’t not collect this data but just what I generally observed.
Hauler has 3 arms lockers, every time, no exceptions. The best gun I have seen in them is a bully. Usually pistols and volt weapons. (D54 for life). Occasional kkv and heavy round lever action gun (forget the name)
Let me know if you have any other questions.

In response to people saying it’s a waste…
Sponsored perimeter is not safe
Guys… I have about a 90% success rate even against trios because teams simply do not suspect the rook. It make sponsored much better. Load in with 13 mins or less timer (as little as 4 mins), find and kill runner group, or setup camp at final exfil. Once runners are in the circle both their vision and sound is completely fucked, they won’t see you coming. The amount of teams that run into circle with 60 secs left is hilarious. I’ll be posting a ton more soon. This is just a fast thing I put together on my phone.
PSA: stop bringing your sick kids to public parks. Ffs
This city is notorious for parents bringing their kids to public parks that are coughing the black lung. wtf are you doing? Please stop and be considerate of others. That’s all.
Edit: clarify this is a park with a playground.
