Nach meiner Wolverine-PS2 ist jetzt mein zweites PS2-Projekt fertig. 😄

Eigentlich hatte ich ursprünglich vor, das Spider-Man-Design der PS5 nachzubauen. Dann wollte ich aber doch etwas Eigenes machen.

Da ich noch einige alte Spider-Man-Comics hier hatte, kam mir irgendwann die Idee: Warum nicht die komplette PS2 so aussehen lassen, als wäre sie direkt aus einem alten Spider-Man-Comic entstanden?

Also habe ich die PlayStation komplett zerlegt, gereinigt und das Gehäuse angeschliffen. Anschließend habe ich nach und nach die verschiedenen Comicseiten auf das Gehäuse aufgebracht. Danach wurde alles versiegelt und zum Abschluss mit mehreren Schichten glänzendem Klarlack lackiert.

Für die Oberseite wollte ich noch etwas Besonderes. Deshalb habe ich dort eine McFarlane-Spider-Man-Figur integriert. Damit die Figur aber nicht dauerhaft fest mit der Konsole verbunden ist, habe ich mir eine abnehmbare Befestigung gebaut. Dafür habe ich die Position festgelegt, ein passendes Loch gebohrt und eine Einschmelzmutter in den Gehäusedeckel eingelassen. Die originale Haltestange der Figur habe ich entsprechend gebogen und mit einem Gewinde versehen. Dadurch kann ich Spider-Man jederzeit montieren oder wieder entfernen.

Mir ist vollkommen bewusst, dass das Design ziemlich speziell ist und sicherlich nicht jedem gefallen wird. 😄 Aber genau deshalb wollte ich es trotzdem mal mit euch teilen.

Für konstruktive Kritik, Verbesserungsvorschläge und vor allem Ideen für das nächste Projekt bin ich offen!

Denn hier steht bereits die nächste PS2 und wartet darauf dass ich anfange sie auseinanderzunehmen. 😂

After my Wolverine PS2, I’ve now finished my second custom PS2 project. 😄

Originally, I was planning to recreate the Spider-Man PS5 design, but in the end I decided to go in a different direction and create something of my own.

I still had a few old Spider-Man comics lying around, and I thought: wouldn’t it be cool if the PS2 itself looked like one of those old comics?

So I completely disassembled the PlayStation, cleaned everything, sanded the case and gradually applied the different comic pages to the individual panels. Once everything was in place, I sealed it and finished the whole console with several coats of glossy clear coat.

I also wanted to add something special to the top, so I mounted a McFarlane Spider-Man figure to the case. I didn’t want the figure to be permanently attached though, so I made the mount removable. I figured out the right position, drilled a hole and installed a threaded insert into the top panel. Then I bent the figure’s original support rod into the position I wanted and cut a thread into it. This way I can simply screw Spider-Man on or remove him whenever I want.

I know this design is pretty specific and definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. 😄 But I thought I’d share it with you anyway!

I’m always open to constructive criticism, suggestions and especially ideas for the next project.

Because there’s already a third PS2 sitting here waiting to be modified. 😂

Das Wolverine-Design der PS5 hat mich dazu inspiriert, eine alte PS2 die bei mir noch herumstand in meine eigene Wolverine Edition zu verwandeln.

Die PS2 wurde dafür komplett zerlegt und von innen gereinigt. Das Marvel Logo und den Wolverine Schriftzug habe ich als eigene Ergänzung hinzugefügt, da mir an der Stelle beim PS2-Gehäuse noch etwas gefehlt hat.

Mit dem Ergebnis bin ich echt zufrieden! Als Nächstes könnte ich mir eine Spider-Man oder Ghostbusters Version vorstellen 😁

I really liked the Wolverine PS5 design, and since I still had an old PS2 sitting around, I thought it would be a cool project to create my own Wolverine version of it.

I completely disassembled and cleaned the PS2 inside before putting everything back together.

The design is inspired by the Wolverine PS5, but I added a few touches of my own. The Marvel logo and Wolverine lettering aren't part of the original PS5 design, but I thought they fit the PS2 really well and made the design feel more complete.

I'm really happy with how it turned out!
