preparing for lit a level!

Hey everyone! i’m going into year 12 soon and have picked my fav subject (ofc literature) for a level:))
I really really want atleast an A or A* in this subject but i’m currently on a 7/8ish but hopefully a 9 in the real gcse🙏 if anyone has any advice/ tips whatsoever on how to get ahead, or what you wish you would’ve done to get a better grade please drop some advice. At the moment i’ve only done the plot of othello which i find super interesting !
Another question id like to know is what revising for the subject looks like- and is it much different to gcses? even now im not quite sure on how to revise here’s what i currently do:
watch a plot summary+read the book,
character analysis, quotes by character, analysis, themes, context, motifs.
i understand a level is much more demanding than gcse level therefore id be very willing to know how to revise to get an A*, or is it just practicing writing a lot of essays?

Any older students give sixth form advice?

just finished year 11 and excited to join sixth form as i want a much better experience in sixth form than secondary school 🤞
i really want a fresh start which is why i want to go to a sixth form where i don’t know anybody. i try to be a sociable person but icant help but be terrified like what if i don’t make any friends 😭
any sixth formers who were initially external students from their school, not knowing
a single person- what was your experience like? was it better than secondary, worse, did u meet your people?
Also idk but i feel as tho there’s less opportunity to make friends as u only have 3 classes but that might mean that you get closer to ppl in them particular classes? or find other ppl and get invited to parties through people
Anyone who been thru ts pleaseee drop tips 😁 and wish me luck 😳🤞🤞

losing passion

i’ve been skating for around 9months ish and i’ve never missed a practice and usually i quite like skating -especially at the beginning when it was fresh and it was like i was introduced into a new world. now i sometimes find joy in it but i can also find it very frustrating. i find myself something losing passion, the expenses of skating are soo discouraging, seeing others progress quicker than u, feeling stuck all the time, feeling as tho ur surrounded by people who aren’t supportive, fear or being seen, feeling embarassed, being a perfectionist when it comes down to the sport. im beginning to lose passion, ive taken a bit of breaks but i genuinely dont know how to gain my passion back when i feel as tho im not even progressing and when i do i just want more it’s a bad mindset and its soo expensive and it feels as though what if im not doing this ina couple years then all this will be spent on nothing. like a 20 pound lesson is lit thirty mins like what i could’ve bought other clothes with that i feel horrible wasting my parents money but idk what to do so i come onto reddit to vent lmao, any other skaters feel this way ever? bc people only show the good parts and im struggling to find love for the sport again

summer job tips?

I’m 16 in England and have just finished secondary school. I’m looking for a part-time summer job, but I’m struggling because I have no previous work experience.

So far I’ve applied through Indeed, but most listings seem to want experience or I never hear back. I’ve also considered handing out CVs in person to local shops, cafés and restaurants, but honestly I find it quite intimidating and don’t know how effective that still is.

For anyone who got their first job at 16 recently, what actually worked for you? Did you apply online, hand out CVs in person, use connections, or something else? Are there any places that are particularly likely to hire someone with no experience?

I’d also appreciate any suggestions for earning some money over the summer if a regular part-time job isn’t realistic straight away.

figure skating help, edea overture or chorus?

Hey guys i have a question, i’ve been skating for roughly 9ish months without private coaching (group lessons) and have been using jackson 500s, which feel pretty firm and haven’t broken down surprisingly, im like 45kg and 5’5 i think so more on the lighter ish side, im about to go into private coaching going on to skate star bronze after finishing skate uk but i can still do a toeloop, salchow, waltz and scratch spin in jackson 500s
i either want to upgrade to edea overture or chorus, 1. im not sure when to change skates bc they’re expensive
2. idk whether to go for overture and chorus because i do want to progress quick and idk maybe overture are too similar to what i currently have? and i dont want them to quickly break down and then have to just buy new skates again soon, i need ones that’ll last me longer but im not sure if chorus would be overly stiff esp considering my levels
I reckon asking my coach and a fitter would be more useful but id rlly appreciate if anyone with any knowledge could give any advice?
