Nescaffe is commonplace even among activist groups
Why is it that every time I go to some meeting about some topic like colonialism or protecting the planet or some vegan human-righs brunch, Nescafé is always. There. Why is it there??? I'm literally sitting in my woke college club in my woke college and I would like to enjoy a goddamn woke cup of coffee! But noo, it has to be Nestlé. It's always Nestlé. I could move to Mars and the Translucent egalitarian space race from planet X-387beta would offer Nesquik as first contact. I hate Nestlé!! Hate! Let me tell you how much I've come to hate Nestlé since I began to live. But I didn't come to hate it - I was born with it. I am a 3rd generation Nestlé boycotter. Silly, but true. My grandma protested back in her day, then my mom, and thankfully the almighty megacorporation blessed my generation with a new batch of crimes against humanity to sustain our lovely family tradition. There's plenty to choose from: I only learned about the Japan thing yesterday! Unlike them, our country always loved coffee. We do not fuck around with coffee, Starbucks literally blacklisted us because our coffee culture was "too intimidating" so why Nescafè?? Why not our own brands, companies, anything but World's most cartoonishly evil "Water's not a human right" company. I got a free student gift box the other day. Snacks, energy drinks, seasoning, some coupons and Nescaffe. At the bottom of the package, waiting for me. Of course it was there, it's Nestlé, it's always there. I squish it in my hand - what a puny little plastic rectangle. "You will never escape me" whispers the instant frappuchino. But I have to imagine a better world.
