New owner half-paranoid questions

Hi everyone,

I bought my CX-30 just a week ago and had a couple of drives, I have some anxiety-driven questions for those who bought it new, to check if they had similar experiences.

  1. Consumption. I expected it to be somewhat higher than the declared one (6L/100km or 39mpg) but I get +50% consumption with respect to these numbers, with a normal mixed driving, half city / half highway. My motor is a Skyactiv-G 2.5L (non-turbo, 2025 version). Could this be related to being the first kilometers and maybe it should drop with time? I read it somewhere but I'm really unsure about this.
  2. Smell: the engine bay has a slight burnt smell after a trip. It seems to me it is fading, I just had 200km in the car. Is this regular / has someone else experienced this? (eg. just new rubbers / coatings / ... setting in maybe?). The engine bay is hot after a trip, but the temperature reported on the screen is normal. So it does not seem alarming.
  3. Air from air vents. With AC off, the air at the "Lo" setting is still way hotter than the exterior. Yesterday the outside was fresh (18C /64F), but the flow the air vents was not very comfortable even after a long time, and I resolved the old shool way - windows partially down. With my older car, letting air flow at "Lo" meant air at the same temperature as outside was flowing in. Maybe it is the hot engine bay that pre-heats air anyway?

Thank you very much! I'm still absorbing the shock of modern driving.

Camping advice Senja

Hello everyone,

me and my wife will be travelling in Norway in July, and we would love to do tent camping some nights, weather allowing, in Senja (2 nights) and Lofoten (1 night). In other nights we already have some places booked.

We are ok with equipped camping or wild camping. I see there are plenty of options, so I would love to hear suggestions from people that had first hand experiences of lovely places (or places to avoid) and would recommend them.

We are well equipped, or at least, we camped in summer in Iceland and Scotland, we like quiet places but not risky or places too difficult to reach.

Thanks in advance!

Joined the gang yesterday

Me and my wife are in deep love. I mean, with the car.

I do not understand half of the buttons, but man I am excited.

We also had to give up our ride of 18 years. It was sad.

We chose a similar colour, so it feels a little like a reincarnation.
