Buttermere camping.

... if you were the family that rocked up for one night at Syke farm yesterday, I hope every sleeping mat you ever inflate develops a slow leak five minutes after you lie down.

Why would you set up at a small quiet site and treat it like a festival site, getting audibly more pissed til 1.30am, while your feral kids were still tipping lighterfluid on the firepit come 1am - ignoring people asking you to be quiet.

There were several D of E groups and student hiking groups trying to sleep before 6/7am starts, young families with babies and others with kids trying to sleep, even groups of elderly hikers right next to you coughing through the night.

I know the social contract has been dwindling drastically since covid, but come the f*ck on - imagine being in your 40s and cracking on like you're 19 on a coke bender, but with several kids in tow.

Think we're just as pissed off that the site didn't appear to have any warden checks after hours too.

Weck query

Is the concept of a weck lid capable of holding a straw (think deli container cocktail) a thing of myth and legend? Or do they exist?
