Found a few bayonets in dad's gun cabinet can you help identify - M4 or M1?

Went through the website worldbayonets.com and it helped a bunch but I don't see exactly what this is? Dads had it for as long as i remember (I'm 58) He has a 1944 M1-Carbine (Winchester version) and this fits around the barrel but is too short to latch. I don't see any markings. AI narrowed it down to possibly a foreign M4? The paper was wrapped around it.

Thanks.

Need help finding a specific Beetle Bailey strip!

I'm trying to identify a Beetle Bailey strip that my brother and I have remembered for years. It features Cookie and Zero. Cookie tells Zero not to put meatballs on the menu two days in a row because the men won't like it, so he tells him to change the name slightly to confuse them.

In the second panel, Zero is writing on the menu board. In the third panel, two of the soldiers are reading the menu and one says, "Meat Pat Ballies."

Does anyone know the date of this strip or which collection book it appeared in?
Its my younger Brother's 50th birthday this year and i want to frame this for him!

Thanks!
