Hello, all pro salsa dancer here interested in ballet

Greetings! I am not sure if this is appropriate for this subreddit. However, I am a pro salsa dancer in NYC and I am looking to start ballet as a 31 year old male, to help me immensely in competition season with my spins (currently look like a dreidel when I spin XD )

However, due to my salsa training and full time job, I can only really commit an hour a week to ballet training. Again, this will be to compliment my salsa competition training.

Is it worth starting from 0 at 31 years old? Will I see an improvement with only 1 hour a week? I am also based in NYC, if anyone knows of any great studios that may fit what I’m looking for!

Thank you for any feedback!

Just wanted to put out a post of some positivity and perhaps hear others experiences, in their later 30s and above!

So I turned 30 last year and turn 31 in a month. I just started working a really great paying flexible corporate role in NYC, where I live, and am a pro competitive salsa dancer. (I only started dancing 4 years ago, but discipline is a hell of a tool)

Does anyone feel like their 30s brought them a breathe of fresh air, despite everyone being terrified of their 30s? I am more fit(dance has a lot to deal with this), financially stable and I’d even say attractive than I’ve ever been in my previous years. This all makes me very optimistic about dating as well, which I had never been in the past.

Would love to hear stories of gay men who flourished in their 30s! Would also love to hear about “successful” dating experiences (of course objective) in your 30s. I never had a boyfriend before in my life, would love my 30s to be the perfect time for it!
