A good Tier 1 "Halloween" Options? (no vampires)

I want to run a "spoooooky" Halloween adventure for my slot next week.

Someone ran a vampire based adventure last night and so now I dont want to run the vampire module I was planning on running!

Anyone have some other interesting Halloween-ish suggestions?

EDIT: also, one of the regulars has a "hard line" about "dead / undead children" so, I need to keep that out also.

The choose your own options Background from 2024 DMG ?

Is there a way to do the customizing of backgrounds as described on page 55 of the 2024 DMG?

It doesn't seem to have been built into DnDBeyond as an official option yet- at least I cannot see a set of on and off Character Preferences in the Sources that give access.

Is there a Homebrew version that people use?

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes as a puzzle model?

Has anyone been able to convert any of the puzzles from Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes into "in-world (at least semi-)'realistic' " puzzles in their tabletop game?

Hammer and Anvil CCC-ODFC01-01 - Any DM tips?

Has anyone run Hammer and Anvil?

Do you have any DM tips?

can you actually get through the four combats in four hours along with the social interactions that are to go along with them? all of the combats either seem cool or relevant for the plot so i am not seeing where to cut.

were the players satisfied with the competition segment just being "for eight hours of the twelve hour competition, make a save or get exhaustion. and now here is a fight!!!"

were there obvious questions that the Players asked or directions they wanted to take the game that were not covered in the text that it would be good to think about in advance?

I will not be running it for AL, so i can make any modifications i want. so if you have any completely out of the box advice or suggestions, i will take that too!

thanks in advance !
