Should I replace my Poco F3 battery before a 3-week vacation?

Hi everyone,

I’m going on a longer vacation (around 3 weeks), and my Poco F3 battery is getting pretty bad. Battery health is around 68%, and I usually have to charge it after coming home from work or again in the evening.

I was thinking about replacing it with a Nohon BM4Y from AliExpress. The problem is that if I order it there, it probably won’t arrive until after I’m back from vacation.

I found two sellers on Amazon that have batteries available for delivery tomorrow, but neither has particularly great reviews, and they are not Nohon, so I’m a bit hesitant to trust them.

My options seem to be:

Buy one of the Amazon batteries with questionable reviews and replace the battery before I leave.

Order the Nohon BM4Y from AliExpress and just use my current battery + a power bank during the vacation.

Forget about replacing the battery for now and just buy a good power bank.

What would you guys do?

I’d rather keep the F3 for a while longer, so I’m mainly looking for the safest/reliably solution

i could also buy a new one, since my current poco is 4 years old. I also need an esim card for the trip.

PS4 controller analog stick top is damaged, should I replace it or use grips?

Hi everyone,

The top part of one of my PS4 controller analog sticks got damaged. I was very careful with the controller, but a kid was playing with it and his nails scratched/peeled the surface of the stick.

The controller still works perfectly, but the damaged area bothers me while playing because I can feel it with my thumb. I’m attaching photos of the damage.

I’m unsure what the best solution is. Should I buy silicone thumb grips/caps and cover it, or should I replace the analog stick caps completely? Is it worth replacing them, and do replacement caps usually feel as good as the original ones?

I’m also considering buying a new controller, but it feels wasteful since everything else works perfectly. My main concern is that if I buy replacement parts and they feel worse than the original sticks, I’ll regret changing it.

For anyone who has replaced PS4 analog stick caps before, did they feel the same as the original ones? Would you recommend replacing them, using grips, or just keeping it as it is?

Thanks for any advice!

Plastic coating around metal frame is peeling off, can this be repaired?

Hi everyone,

The plastic part around the metal section of my glasses has started peeling off. I think it happened gradually from cleaning and wiping them over time.

The glasses are still usable, but I’m wondering what the best solution would be. Is this something that can be repaired, or should I avoid trying to glue it back? Would an optician be able to replace or fix this part, or is this usually a sign that the frame needs to be replaced?

I’ve attached photos of the damaged area. Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

Better WC2026 online watching options than VRT/RTBF?

I had great experience watching Euro 2024 on RTBF via my ps4. Unfortunately the app is not working anymore.

I connected with MiTv to RTBF but I don't like the image quality and i can't improve it.

I also want longer highlights of the game, since I will miss the most.

Issues with AOC Q27G42XE

Hi everyone,

I bought a gaming monitor for the first time, mostly for coding and occasional gaming.

AOC Q27G42XE: https://www.amazon.com.be/-/en/AOC-Gaming-Q27G42XE-2560x1440-DisplayPort/dp/B0DT4R1N9N

I am very happy with the product. The monitor is big and light. Maybe overkill for the coding.

I've started noticing some vertical lines anytime there is a picture or anything colourful on the screen.

It's started really bothering me since I noticed. It really looks like an optical illusion. Especially if I compare that I did not have the issue with my old monitor.

It's very difficult to show the issue, so i tried taking photos. First photo is a close up of the issue, second is a photo from a website where yous see multiple colors, images, blue ribbon, green image.

I tried unsuccessfully:
- Plugging in different laptops, windows/linux/mac.
- Changing HDMI cables - i am using the one that arrived with the monitor
- Changing refresh rates
- Clicking all the settings in the menu bar, although I don't know half of them what they do.

What should I do? Is this a problem of the monitor? can I provide some more info/specs? Should I update drivers?

I have 7 more days to return it.
I'm planning on getting a simpler one, no high refresh rate, and possibly an HP monitor as they are a more known brand.

EDIT: Also, is there a name of regarding this issue?

Poco F3 battery replacement BM4Y or BM53

Hi everyone,

I am about to change my Poco F3 battery since it's very weak and i've been reading that the "identical" replacement would be to use the Noho BM4Y. On the other hand, I see many posts of people that have replaced their battery with a BM53 (5000MAh).

Does it change something if I add a stronger battery, different than the original one?

Which one would you recommend? Are the ones on Aliexpress safe? Are there any official ones?

Thank you!

Is it worth factory resetting my POCO F3 or is the battery just worn out?

I have a POCO F3 (8GB/256GB) that I bought in 2022 and I’ve been using it daily ever since. I’ve never done a factory reset on it.

At the moment I’m using around 214GB out of the 256GB storage, so the phone is pretty full. Recently the battery has become noticeably weaker. With normal use, the phone now lasts about half a day to almost a full day at best, while before it used to last much longer.

The phone itself still feels powerful enough for what I do, so I’d rather avoid buying a new one if possible.

I’m mainly wondering if a factory reset would actually help with battery life and performance, or if the battery is simply worn out after a few years of daily use. I’m also curious if having the storage almost full could be affecting things too.

Has anyone here done a factory reset on an older POCO F3 and noticed a real difference, or would replacing the battery make a much bigger impact?
