Ran into an issue (texts) looking for advice

Hello, so I switched to a dumb phone, the Consumer Cellular Iris Easy Flip. I actually was really enjoying it but I ran into issues with texting. It seemed to only send and receive SMS and it made it really difficult for people to get a hold of me. I was able to tell my friends I could only receive SMS, but some of them didn't understand what that meant or how to make it work. It also made it hard for my work or appointments to communicate. I thought since the Easy Flip uses a version of Android this wouldnt be an issue.

Anyway, I returned the phone and now I'm not sure what to do. I was really enjoying not having smart phone, but it was a bit useless as a phone when people can't really get a hold of me. I'm back to the drawing board. I checked the dumb phone finder and not sure what to look for when it comes to a phone that supports modern text formats. I also have Consumer Cellular which I hope doesn't limit me further, but should work with most unlocked phones.

I'm pretty frustrated by this an not sure what to do going forward.

Pasta cooked in salted water tastes worse

I can't find anyone else who agrees anywhere. I'm already not a fan of pasta but I'll make blackened chicken pasta from time to time. I see people say you salt the water to make it not bland, but is it not the sauce and spices that make it not bland? Salting the water makes pasta taste awful. I have yet to have a pasta that is better salted.

Edit: I think I should have worded this post better, which is in my (unpopular opinion) pasta itself is a boring and overrated food that's way too over hyped despite being the blandest of any cuisine, and salting the water doesn't make it better
