Is this Vega OS in beta or something? It's missing so much

Made the mistake of buying a firestick select with the vega OS after my old firestick died. And yes, we all know it's awful for a bunch of reasons, but is it actually finished? A few things make me wonder if its still beta.

If I go to the app store, there's essentially no options to browse. It's has a few categories, but basically nothing. And some apps that you'd assume would be presented are simply not at all findable unless you actually know their name.

And it's not small apps; AppleTV is nowhere to be found, unless you specifically search for it.

Also missing is any list of previously downloaded apps, etc. I completely forget the name of a couple of apps I am separately paying for and there's no damn way in the Vega OS to find them. I FINALLY remembered the name of one, Criterion Channel, and of courses when I search it and download it I get the message "download; you already own this"... so it DOES know this is my app, its just not going to present that info to me.

I can see two scenarios; one is the most obvious one; amazon is trying to steer even more people towards the prime app to sign up for the services through them (of course criterion isn't part of the prime system), and the second is that they just rushed the thing out and will fix the app store later. Personally I assume it's the former; but I wouldn't discount amazon being dumb and lazy.

Am I missing something with the new update? Where did my installed and not installed apps list go?

I just got a new fire stick select to replace my old one. Am I missing something with apps? I cannot figure out where to get apps and more important what happened to the installed app or not installed tabs went in the app store. I know I have like five different apps I'm paying for, and I cannot for the life of me remember a few of them. And the ones I do remember, like Apple TV, they seem to be hiding because I haven't even come across is in the app store at all. You used to have a list of all your owned or previously owned apps; I could easily get these if I could find that. Where the heck did it go?

Man I do not in anyway see why they updated this app.

Does the current next allow you to stay at one temp with both heat and ac set to be used?

(sorry I typed next for some reason in the title) I have an old (second?) generation nest. At least with this thing the only way you can "hold" a temperature is to either set it to only heating or cooling, and then set a temp. So like it's warm out and I set it to "cooling" and and set it to 69 degrees (nice). And it will cool it to 69. But at night when it gets down to 55 outside it just gets cold inside (and the opposite will happen at other times of the year when I use the heater instead).

So you can use both, but it sets a 3 degree range; so the air will turn on when it gets like at 72 and the heat turns on when it gets below 69. I absolutely just want it at a specific temperature. I'm definitely one of "those people" who can tell variations between single degrees.

So does the new version allow me to have both the heat and cooling used to maintain a single temperature. And if not, does anyone else know of a different product that does this? It's literally the only thing I care about with my thermostat! Thanks!

Sharing a camera is extremely complicated and obtuse for the end user.

Wyze you make it WAY TOO HARD for someone to accept a shared camera. I share cameras at my dog kennel for customers to view their dogs in their suites. Wyze makes them fully create an account, and then makes them go through a set up that confuses them because it's all about setting up their home for their cameras.

They do not have cameras; there's no need to set up a "home" or anything. They simply want to click a button and view a camera. I literally have a full page write up that I give to customers to help step them through it; and about half the time they have to call me on the phone later and explain stuff again. Its incredibly annoying and very wasteful of my time.

I guess I recognize why you want them to set up an account; but you definitely should make it easier for folks that are just looking to view a camera I've shared with them. This is insane.

The fact that I have to create a detailed instruction manual and I STILL have to manually help half my customers says that the current system is way too unwieldy for guest users.

“recent shares” aren’t recent. At all.

Hey Wyze -

I run a dog kennel and have Wyze cams in each dog suite that I share with their owners. When I share them it will list “recent shares” that I can choose from. The problem? The most recent share is from well over a year ago. Basically the “recent” list was the first 20 people I shared cameras with and then it stopped adding names.

So it’s basically worthless at this point. Is there a way

A) actually show recent shares, or

B) delete names from the list so new ones can populate, or

C) change the name from “Recent Shares” to “original shares” or something similarly more accurate than “recent shares?”

Suddenly getting tons of notifications; was there a recent app update?

I have about 40 or so cameras (I run a dog kennel) and woke up this morning to a cacophony of notifications. Which is odd because I have notifications turned off for all but three cameras.

And checking them in the app, sure enough they were all turned off. I eventually turned then on and off again which seemed to help. I think. It was almost exclusively OG cameras and one duo camera. I went to customer support; not sure they were much help as to what happened.

An especially odd thing is some of the notification were for “sound detected” but when I go to the notifications in the app there doesn’t even seem to an option for notifications for sound.

Did this happen to any one else? Ideas to prevent me being woken up at 6 am like this in the future?
