Our twins were born early this morning, two girls. They weren't expected to be born for another three weeks, and for me, this is a difficult time and so I was just completely unprepared and had thought I'd decide the names later. But life goes on and we have babies to name.

I had felt very set on the name Lior for a while before they were born, we had been using it for one of them while I was still pregnant, so I definitely want to use it.

I feel bad about it but the other baby has just been impossible to name. We had been calling her Shemesh as a nickname, but it’s just too hippy for me to use as an actual name, and light and sun, it’s a lot and I don’t want their names to be cutesy.

We have a list of names we like, some I like more, some my husband likes more, but we would feel fine about using them either way. It's all over the place. None of them are feeling like they are obviously the one right now, but I think it’s because I haven’t used any of them like I did with Lior. But I feel her name is one of them.

We have decided though that one will have the middle name Emily, and the other Naama. They're both names we love so it feels right, but we'd rather use them as middle names because I don't like either for the first name with Lior. Order, I don't mind, I guess it is whatever sounds the best so that would be helpful too.

We live in Australia and our other children are named David and Nili.

Arielle is their brother’s choice, and Niv is their sister’s choice. Unfortunately they do not both like the same name, otherwise it would have been an easy option 😂

We could spell Niv as either Neve or Neev if it made that easier to be pronounced correctly.

We are having twin girls and we haven't decided on the names definitively, although we think we will definitely use Esther, and we think that we would like to name them Esther Mascha and Lior Marie.

Our first daughter has the middle name Rachel after the poet and we wanted to name them all like that. So we had chosen Marie after Marie Syrkin and Mascha after Mascha Kaléko.

But Mascha and Marie come from the same name, with Mascha being a dimunitive of Maria and then Marie being the French form. I didn't intend that but realised afterwards.

I'm not worried about them being named after each other spiritually because they are named after different people but I'm worried that for people who don't know, it might seem weird, like we couldn't come up with two different names, or they might think that themselves.

We're expecting twin daughters. I have always liked the name Esther and my husband likes it as well. So that was an easy choice.

The second name has not been nearly as easy to find. We've been looking for a long time, and we think we like Lior.

We live in Australia, so Esther is well known and I've known several from different backgrounds. Lior however, it's not common at all, and only Jewish.

My concern is the treatment that she may have from that. Healthcare for example, that's been found as a very big problem. And I am worried that by giving one of them a name that will make them so identifiably Jewish, and the other, not at all, it will single one of them out in an unfair way. So even though we like both of the names, I'm not sure what we should do.

We live in Australia, and are having twin girls. We already have two children named Nili and David, and a name that we liked for one of these babies is Kinneret.

But I'm not sure if it would be too unusual and maybe not work very well. It's supposed to be pronounced as Kee-Neh-Ret. It means harp.

Nili also is unusual here, and not very phonetic, but it's not too bad because it's quite a short name, whereas Kinneret is not.

I like it and would like to use it, but am just not sure if it will be a big problem.

We like Esther, I have always liked that name. So that is one of the favourites. We also both like Yuval, Rosa, Tzofia, Liel or Lielle, and Shaina. My husband also likes Naomi, I’m not sure about it, and likewise, I like Tamar, he isn’t sure.

We have also thought of Romi, but I’m not sure if the name Romy becoming more popular would mean that it would get constantly confused. Mila was another idea, after my great grandmother, who was Lyudmila, but it’s on and off for me. And I love Shiri but Shiri and Nili is pretty terrible.

It is made more difficult by having two together because sometimes I feel like they don't sound right together as well. I like our options so far, but I think we are out of any more ideas, as well which ones to use together.
