Advice on replacing a kitchen sink tap.

Hi everyone,

I'm not very experienced with plumbing DIY so I thought I would post here before trying and making a big mistake.

So basically I have a new tap...

With the following connectors...

So under the sink looks like this...

What I think I would do is unscrew the current pipes at the blue area and screw the new connector in place.

If so do I then need to move the bits in the yellow area to the green area? I assume this is some kind of grounding and will be quite important.

Any advice you can give would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.
