Deja Foods on 84th was great

They opened a few weeks ago and we stopped in tonight. It's hard to explain but the restaurant feels so much nicer than the neighborhood. Not to disparage the area but they did a great job renovating the restaurant. It's definitely a nice addition to the area.

We ordered the Cajun pasta and gyro burger. The pasta had a good amount of spice. The waffle cut chips they served with the burger were freshly made. Hopefully they make it long term because the dining room was pretty sparse. If you're looking to try somewhere new give it a try.

Thornton Waterwise Tour

Thornton is doing a free self guided waterwise garden tour on 6/27. They are going to have a CSU or city master gardener at each residential location. If anyone is thinking about converting their irrigated turf lawn, Thornton is offering up to $2k payment ($2 per square foot) if you plant waterwise perennials. This is in addition to the $750 lawn removal rebate. They were surprisingly easy to work with to get approved plans etc.

I did mine last year. The plants are doing their year 2 creep and I'm very happy with it. Could be a good way to see different ideas if you're on the fence about replacing your grass.

Native perennial recs for morning shade and afternoon part sun?

Most of the part sun plants I've found like morning sun and afternoon shade so I figured I'd ask for recommendations.

I have a spot along my fence line that faces west and has a couple peach trees about 15 feet away so the canopy is not massive. It gets about 4-5 hours of intense afternoon sun but not much else before that. Perhaps more today since the trees aren't fully leafed out yet but they'll get more leaves through the summer. Any recommendations for colorful drought tolerant perennials that don't mind not having 6+ hours of sun but can also thrive in the direct afternoon heat?
