Eyebrows on the peninsula?!

Hi! I live in Redwood City but 1x a month have to drive to SF to get my eyebrows done by a woman who’s been doing them for almost 10 years. I love her, but I need to find something closer to home now that I have two kids and work full time. She usually does eyebrow tweezing for me (wax kind of scares me) and I have thick brows. Please share your most trusted eyebrow places!

Non-technical PM asked to consider growing more technical role with coding background . Looking for recommendations.

I’m a PM at a small company (Ruby on Rails app). No coding background. My manager recently mentioned I could grow into a more technical role on the same app over time, on top of my PM work. I’m interested to see if I would enjoy this work and I want to actually take this seriously so I’m trying to figure out the fastest realistic way to ramp up.

Some context that might matter for recommendations:

I’m not job hunting or trying to break into tech from scratch. I already have the role, and I already know which codebase I’d eventually be working in.

I’ll have engineers on my team who can mentor me once I have some baseline fluency, so I don’t need a program that ends in landing a new job

I need real structure if possible. I have access to Udemy courses for free at work, if that matters.

Has to be online and flexible on timing. I have two little kids, so a program with fixed live class time during dinner for instance won’t work for me.

Questions for anyone who’s actually done something like this:

**1.**	What online program actually kept you accountable?

**2.**	Does a bootcamp even make sense for someone in my spot (not job hunting, just leveling up for an existing job), or is there something better suited for this?

**3.**	If you did a part-time/flexible online program, what worked and what didn’t? Would you do it again?

Thx so much

WWYD - Rearended in my Subaru Outback and not sure if I should pay extra for OEM parts?

EDIT TO ADD THIS IS REDWOOD CITY CA

I was recently rear ended and my body shop told me I need to pay extra for OEM on a few parts. Wanted to get some opinions before I sign off on the repair.

The parts in question where the insurer is pushing aftermarket:

• Rear bumper cover: $104 OEM
• Foam absorber (behind the cover): $25.92 OEM
• Rear impact/reinforcement bar: $101 OEM

Everything else (sensors, brackets.) is already being done with OEM parts.

Total OEM premium for those three parts is about $231 over whatever the aftermarket alternative would cost.

My concern is sensor alignment. Has anyone had issues with aftermarket bumper components on an Outback specifically? Apparently this work is guaranteed so if there’s an issue, I can bring it back to the shop, but that makes me nervous.

I tried to fight with GEICO but no luck. Should I pay the difference?

Hit by likely uninsured driver who totaled my car's bike rack - what are my next steps?

I was driving home today (in SF Bay Area, CA) and was rear ended by a driver who barely spoke English and couldn't provide proof of insurance or a license once we pulled over. He only handed me an incomplete CA DMV registration receipt that expires tomorrow. Police came and did a report for documentation purposes. My family (two young kids) were in the car but are fine thankfully.

Damage is to my rear bumper (seemingly minor) and my bike rack which is completely totaled ($1k to replace).

I have Geico and my policy includes Collision ($500 deductible) and Uninsured Motorist Property Damage

The UMPD fine print says it's only available if you don't carry collision coverage. Since I have both, does that mean I'm forced to go through collision and eat the $500 deductible even though this was 100% not my fault?

Also, would replacing the Thule bike rack likely covered at all?

Am I worse off because the other driver is likely uninsured?

I plan to call Geico before filing anything but wanted to get some realworld experience from you all first. Any insight appreciated.

Curly hairdresser or someone else that can teach me how to manage and style my curly hair?

I hope someone here can relate to this! I have really curly hair and have no idea how to wear it down. When I see pictures of me as a kid my hair was amazing, but in high school I was straightening it all the time and since I was 21ish (now 35!) I’ve pretty much just showered, let it dry, and put it in a bun for the day.

I absolutely love curly hair and wish I could rock it, but I feel like I don’t know how to wear it down and need professional help at this point lol. I have paid for v expensive haircuts. I went to DBS salon in Sunnyvale and they did an OK job cutting it… but I still continue to be clueless on how to wear it down and have it look amazing every day. That’s why I’m not sure if I need a hairdresser or someone else?!

In general I’m well put together but I lead a pretty active lifestyle (love running, biking) and have two kids under 2 years old and do not spend any time in the AM doing makeup etc.

Anyone else can relate?! Please send help 🙏🏻
