I just saw this flag behind the Latvian prime minister in a Danish newspaper article. Have the Latvians switched or how is this used?

I just updated to the latest stable version v 1.4.4 on mac, and now I have some pretty serious issues.
There are no shortcuts (at all) anymore - see screenshots. Even when I try to assign them manually, they dont work. And trying to switch to adobe standard or inkscape standard, does nothing. There are no shortcuts anywhere.
My backspace doesn't delete the item I've selected.
Has anyone experienced this and found a solution?
New drawing of an existing Coat of Arms. I have only done the drawing - the design, the colours and the charges where all decided beforehand.
