Tern GSD in-house parking in a typical Belgian house

Hi everyone!

In case useful to someone, wanted to share my setup with which I have managed to have parking for my Tern GSD (Gen 3 P00) inside my house.

As you can see, not much space before the stairs start as the house has a typical raised ground floor, so had to find a way to plop it there. Given it only fits backwards (Clubhouse width would prevent door from closing/opening) I have made a ramp which enables me to get it up to the top stair backwards and then lower the kickstand and lock it which then keeps the whole bike wedged.

Final small detail is that for the wedge to work I made it so that the ramp of the 1st step detaches so that the angle of the front wheel is steeper as otherwise the angle of the kickstand is insufficient to keep the bike in place.

Hope this helps! All the best!

Tern GSD crash test

Hi everyone!

New Tern GSD rider here. My search for a Tern GSD crash test came up empty. Tern have lots of safety recommendations but I don’t find anything in terms of what happens in case you do tip over while riding.

Anyone have any links to crash tests of Tern GSD with kids on the back in a Clubhouse or anything similar?

If not, does anyone have maybe any personal stories they’d be willing to share?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the gruesome subject… I’m sure the little ones are gonna be just fine with all us Tern riders… probably… mostly… :)

Building a bike ramp

Hi everyone!

I’m building a bike ramp. Three questions:

  1. Do I need to build a support triangle under the ramp for each step or are two enough?
  2. If two triangle supports are enough, am I right thinking first and last step are the ones to place them on?
  3. Should I secure the triangle supports using nails or screws?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Keeping front wheel locked straight - Tern GSD

Hi everyone!

Just got my Tern GSD. I park it on the staircase at the entrance to my house. In order for it to fit I need to put it in in reverse. Ideally I’d like to have both of my hands on the back to push it up a ramp and the front wheel locked in a straight position.

Any idea of how to do that? Any tips on how you would go in reverse up a hill with your GSD also would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: SOLVED: solution = fold down steerer tube and use the provided strap to lock it in the 180 degree (straight wheeling) position
