Taming down an "older" gal

Taming down an "older" gal

(Picture of da baby cause I adore her)

Hello! First time blood owner and I dove straight into the deep end.

I work with a rescue and we had a BEAUTIFUL 10yr old female come in, she's massive, about 5ft and 20-ish pounds. She was a real sweety when she was with the rescue, and I fell in love. Brought her home and she's being very hissy and puffy, no strikes yet for which I'm grateful, but it's inevitable if everything I've read is right.

I'm no stranger to large snakes, 7+ feet is very normal for me in handling and owning, but I don't think I've ever had anything with this much attitude and strike power behind it. And honestly I'm a little scared.

Any advice for me would be appreciated, I know it's probably going to take time and lots of tags before I get it right, but I want to give her the best life and get the snake I fell in love with to "love" me back.

Exotic Pet Hardscape

Hello! Looking to see if anyone knows where I can get hardscape (branches, rocks, cork bark, etc) for my exotics in the area? Are there any lakes or wooded areas where I could forage for them close by? Appreciate any information!

Flush Lighting?

I'm trying to build out my reptile shelf currently and am trying to fit as many animals as I can onto one shelf (responsibly of course).

In my effort to conserve space I'm switching to linear bulbs for my uvb (I know I should've had them to begin with, my geckos were the first reptiles that needed uvb and I'm still learning) but I'm looking for a more low profile option for my boa's heat lamp. I currently use a dome lamp from tractor supply originally meant for chickens, and it's about 5in tall, but that's 5in I could be using for another tank.

Any suggestions on low profile heat lamp fixtures I can use for her enclosure? I'm not finding any in my cursory research but I wanted to ask the masses. Thank you!

Reptile Feeders

Just moved to the area and I'm looking for a local supply for my boa constrictors rats. They need to be frozen as I don't live feed. Is there any place I can get them around here or am I better off getting them shipped in? Any advice is welcome, thank you!
