I may just be an asshole but I think that speaking about your life for more than like 3 mins in class is so annoying. Like I ain’t paying tuition to hear your life story, which can be heard outside of class for free. Why am I doing 300000 pages of reading to have our class time wasted on you? Why can this time not be used to really go deeper and understand the texts? Why are there not accompanying lectures? Why does the professor let this happen???

I go to a top 3 school for social work (according to US News) and this is really starting to make me question that ranking…

Like… Jewish people have undergone immense suffering of course. So much so that Britain was like “hey, here’s a whole piece of land with people already living on it! Have fun!” And now they’re committing literal genocide. And yet, people support Jewish people having a literal ethnostate with essentially bottomless funding from the US for their military to kill and disable civilians intentionally.

Black people in the US have also undergone immense suffering. Reparations? NO! DEI? NO!

It pisses me off so bad because how are we SO okay with it abroad while they are doing morally atrocious things, yet in the US our biggest crime is killing EACH OTHER and we can’t have the same kind of support that would literally do so much in stopping us from killing… each other…

Essentially I hate how backwards mainstream thought in the US is. Idk if I made that point well but yeah.

I’m searching for research positions and haven’t been getting any luck. I just talked to a professor on Zoom, and she told me that most professors at my university make jobs posts after they’ve already informally hired someone, and now they’re just going through the formal, legal process of hiring. I’ve literally wasted so much time tweaking my CV and writing cover letters for jobs that have ALREADY BEEN FILLED.

I’m just so tired and frustrated. I’ll only be able to work part-time in the fall due to the graduate program I’m going into, and the current job I have will not pay me enough on a part-time schedule for me to live. I have been applying all summer and have been getting nothing, and now I know that I was never going to get the things I applied for. I’m so stressed.

Now I’m going to have to go through the process of looking up faculty individually, learning their research, and then cold emailing without knowing if they even have the capacity or need for students to support their work. Things are just not looking up rn and I wanted to vent 😩

I just sized up yesterday and my bras leave lines on my shirt. I’m so sick of having my bitties look this way when I need to wear a bra. Any tips on how to not have lines show up? Or like the boob look like it’s popping up over the bra? Idk how to explain it but I’ve been having issues with this for years now and I hate wearing bras because of it.

So I’m tryna eat somewhere good in downtown Chicago, there’s a soul food restaurant charging out the ass for some food but okay we go anyway. I get in there and the woman goes “Sorry, there’s a dress code” and does not seat us at all. Like wtf you charging $81 for steak AND want me in business casual? Putting on a nice outfit isn’t gonna turn someone from a street nigga to an upstanding citizen. Just arbitrary bs. Sorry I had to rant bc I’m on my cycle and that just pissed me off BADDDD. I been enjoying my day out, and you really not gonna take my money for some overpriced food bc I got some shorts on, gtfonnnn.
