My husband and I recently got Bucky Bean and he’s 10weeks old ! You might be thinking he doesn’t look like a GSP but he sure is! We currently in the process of crate training and potty training. So far its going really good, we only had 1-3 accidents inside but i think was because it was the first couple of days at his new home.
I am being excited that we have a puppy and completely patient with what comes with it.
He does completely fine in his crate, whines for less than a minute and knocks out. Since he is a working dog every meal we make him work for it. And we take him to potty first thing, then meal, then potty again and we play/ train him and back in his crate he goes for a nap. I want to do this right and i have been GOOGLING everything because i dont want him to grow up thinking we dont like him or something else entirely. I would love to cuddle him to sleep but husband and i both agreed to not do that until he is a bit older. He is in his land-shark phase so everything is a chew toy for him, we are working redirecting with that onto his toys and sometimes its good but others not so well. Husband and i are covered in scratches and wittle bites lol but nonetheless he is the BESTEST boy ever! I just feel awful sometimes that he has to be in the crate a lot which i do understand because puppies need from than 14 hours of sleep specifically at this age.
If you have any tips and tricks or share your puppy story, how it went , what you would have done differently. I would love to know!! (:
