Talk me out of it…

I bought the above desert rose and I’ve been looking for a planter for it. Full disclaimer - I haven’t received it in the mail yet but I have kind of fallen in love with this canoe/boat shaped planter (also pictured). The planter measures 18” x 9.6” x 5.4”. My gut tells me this isn’t going to work with this rose but I need someone to either talk me out of it or tell me to live my best millennial plant life. Ready…set…reddit.

Advice

We built a pond using a metal cattle trough and then added stone around it. Initially we were thinking we could grout the top to fill in the gaps. We prepared the grout this morning and it was extremely thin with a fraction of the water that the package said to use. I’m wondering if anyone has any advice on the best method to fill the gaps in the stone around the top. TIA!

What to expect?

My plumeria is growing remarkably well but since this is my first one, I was wondering if someone can tell me what to expect based on what I’m seeing at the tip of my plumeria.

It’s putting out a ton of new leaves but I’m also curious how to tell if there are new branches developing. There are these little nubs on the tip of the main stalk and I can’t tell if they will just be more leaves or if this is branching. How do you distinguish between new leaves and possible new branches? Does the main branch just continue growing out as leaves develop?

I haven’t found a good answer in my internet searches so any information is greatly appreciated!

Excitement over possible new branches

Just wanted to share my excitement - this is my first plumeria and I’m located in Upstate NY. It’s a coral cream variety that I ordered online. It had two branches, but one of them broken off in transit. After advice from the community I trimmed the point of the break and just waited to see what happened. And today I noticed three (maybe four) protrusions just under the area where I trimmed it. I’m so happy!!

It makes me feel like I’m doing something right. I have babied this plant since the day I got it.

Advice on the break point of my new plumeria plant

I got this plumeria plant in the mail last week and one of the little branches had broken off. It looks like it’s doing really well so far but I didn’t know if I should do anything at the break point where the other branch was. Will it put out another branch at all? TIA!

New to Plumeria - Advice appreciated (see below)

I’m new to plumeria and I just got my first rooted plant in the mail - I bought a rooted Coral Cream plumeria online. I'm in Upstate NY, growing zone 5a. I know l will need to bring this in once the temps drop but I had a few questions about the plant I received.

First question - one of the branches broke off in transit and I was wondering if it's salvageable. I know cuttings can be calloused and propagated but I'm wondering if there are any tips on that process. Is this a big enough piece to put that effort into?

Second question - I literally JUST potted the rooted plant and I'm wondering if I should adjust it to be straighter? I tried my best to keep it in a position to have all the roots covered but also keeping the soil to just the base of the stalk. I was also told to use a smaller pot but it just looks crooked.

Any advice is appreciated. I'm super excited to baby this little plant for years to come.

A celebration of Mayhem!!

After almost two months of waiting I finally got these gorgeous art prints in the mail. The artist is Albert Victoria and they are STUNNING! Love how they look matted and framed.

Correos Spain to USA shipping question

Just had a question and wondered if anyone else had a similar experience and/or advice. I ordered some art prints and they shipped from Spain on April 30th. On May 5th the Correos tracking showed that it entered US customs but it displayed a red X and it hasn’t updated since then. I reached out to the seller and he said that he hasn’t had any issues shipping to the US and he labeled the package as documents so it shouldn’t have any issue getting through customs.

I honestly don’t know if I should just wait for it to show up at some point, or if I should contact USPS? Correos support only told me basically what the tracking shows. Just wondering if anyone had any advice. TIA!
