[Project Release] Dolphin 2018 TDEV - Patched to run the GameCube "Metroid Prime 3: Corruption" 2006 Prototype on Android
Hello All,
This is the first time in a long time I have released any type of software and the first time I have forked a project. Today I present a fork of a really old version of Dolphin that can run the Metroid Prime 3 (2006) GameCube Prototype.
This version of the game is strange because the prototype is technically a GameCube game, even though the final release shifted to the Wii. It requires 48MB of RAM to run, and even though newer versions of Dolphin allow you to set the memory up to 64MB, this prototype build still will not run on them. My project is based on an old version of Dolphin that Hakairyu at dolphin-emu.org used to make a working desktop build.
However, my issue was that I really wanted to play this on my Pixel 10 Pro Fold and my Odin 2 Mini. I didn't see any Android builds out there, so I decided to Thanos "fine, I will do it myself."
The catch is, I am an IT System Analyst, not a C++ developer. I built this project by using Google Gemini to help me navigate, debug, and patch the legacy C++ codebase, as well as set up the build environment (which required manual installation of outdated and deprecated packages that had to be tracked down). I have a very elementary understanding of coding—the last time I made anything significant was a tic-tac-toe app for Android 1.5 back in Eclipse! However, I was responsible for the hardware testing, ADB deployment, and final verification.
The GitHub link is below for code verification and for the apk download.
This will only work with the G2MEAB Debug, Mar 02, 2006 version that is found on Archive.org
